Just No. We've already got enough browsers to choose from.

Between Firefox, Chrome and Safari I find it really hard to believe that they will make a browser as good or better than theirs.

I used to love netscape navigator back when it was still on version 7/8. It was downhill from there.

but still, it was pretty darn awesome. Netscape's default skin pwns Firefox's default anyday.

but nah. Don't bring it back. At least, not when google chrome and safari4 are around.

Yes definitely although Netscape still lives in Firefox.

I remember there was a petition last year when AOL finally said that they will no longer update it.

The last if I remember is just Firefox 2 skinned (Netscape 9.0.0.6). And yes, aesthetic wise, I think Netscape 8 and 8.1 are the best looking browsers yet.

You guys aren't aware of Netscape's history apparently.

Netscape lives on in Firefox. I used Netscape back in 1995. It was pure awesomeness and I've used it over the years until 2002/2003. It was a great browser.

The reason I asked this, is because Netscape is my OS browser right now.

Yeah. I had to add some things to make it work. It's running great so far.

yanike, people who have never used Netscape won't understand what a great browser it was.

Yeah. I had to add some things to make it work. It's running great so far.

it has a awesome UI, and some kickass features like multi-profiles, multibar, a security center, advanced tabbed browsing features, passcards manager, allows you to switch between rendering engines, and the list goes on.

too bad netscape 9 was just a skinned firefox2. Netscape 8 kickedass! i'm proud to say that I was a fan of netscape, but have switched to chrome since. Never really liked firefox, for some reason.
_____________________________________________________________________

To tell the truth, the people working on Netscape are the same people who are working on Firefox:

...the Netscape team had begun working on converting their flagship product - the Netscape Communicator web suite - into open source software, under a new name: Mozilla.

source

so, as long as firefox is alive, Netscape technically is alive too.

I was just going to say that netscape looks real nice, but its dissapointing when you use it though i've used it from version 8 to 9 and was stuck with 9 in our school until middle school, then they forced IE on us and I grew a new hate, I'd love to see that great apple like UI again.

No but I want to see Phoenix or FireBird back as the core version of Firefox.
