So what?
Did people complain when 95,98,2000,ME all looked the same?
Even XP wasn't that different from ME.

Thanks for the news.

I agree, people shouldn't be expecting major changes this late in the development. It's now all bug fixing. We won't see many new features from now.

Can we directly do an upgrade from the beta or do we need a clean install?
I don't want to reinstall my apps ...

I think that we need to do clean install... <_<

I'm really just to lazy :D

Normally it wouldn't be. But since these are for the beat/RC program, it's ok. They've been posted elsewhere on the Intertnet as well.

They are the public Beta keys, but they still work with the RC, so posting them is perfectly fine.
Frylock beat me to it.

Nothing new, just the same with 7077.

They just changed the build number.

Like I said, under the hood.

Back to my Car analogy:

Unless you know what to look for underneath the hood, your going to be lost and not notice anything. One extra pair of pistons can make a world of difference.

We are all disappointed because there was supposed to be a "Big Surprise" in UI change in RC1.

You really believed that UI change thread?

Don't bother downloading this build, nothing new.

But gizmodo is reporting new features:

1: Stream Your Library Over the Internet With Windows Media Player

2: Windows XP Mode

XP Mode consists of the Virtual PC-based virtual environment and a fully licensed copy of Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3). It will be made available, for free, to users of Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions via a download from the Microsoft web site, users can run Windows XP-based applications (like IE 6) alongside Windows 7 applications under a single desktop......
It significantly recasts the Windows 7 compatibility picture. Before, Microsoft could claim that Windows 7 would be at least as compatible as Windows Vista. Now, they can claim almost complete Windows XP compatibility, or almost 100 percent compatibility with all currently running Windows applications.
