Are you a PC and love Windows?
Do you love editing photos or making videos with your friends? Playing online games like Fallout 3 or Dawn of War? Video chatting on Messenger or browsing the Web with Internet Explorer?
Do you think you should be the next Windows Brand Ambassador?
If your answer to the above questions is YES, don't stop reading, here's a very good chance for you to be recognized by Microsoft.

Microsoft has launched another campaign for all those of you who claim 'I'm a PC', the Windows Brand Ambassador Program.

Microsoft will chose 40 Windows Brand Ambassadors to tell their Windows story on the web.
To enter, create a photo, video or a blog on why you use a PC or why you should be a Windows Brand Ambassador. You have to share you experience of using Windows using any of these means.

The top 200 highest scoring entries will move to the semi-finals, from where onwards 100 entries will be chosen based on community voting. After that the lucky 40 Windows Brand Ambassador's will be chosen by the Windows Social Media Team. That's not where it ends, the 40 Brand Ambassador's will have to complete weekly video challenges from Microsoft. Out of these 40, the winning Brand Ambassador will be chosen based on the completion of those challenges, and how effective the buzz has been around the web because of them.

8 Weekly Challenge Winners: During the Finals, the Windows Brand Ambassadors will receive weekly challenges from Microsoft. The finalist that best completes the challenge that week will receive a $100 gift certificate to Best Buy.

Grand Prize: The Windows Social Media Team will choose one Grand Prize winner, selected from the 40 Windows Brand Ambassadors, to receive a trip for two to Microsoft's Main Campus in Redmond, WA and have the chance to meet members of the Windows Social Media Team and tour the Microsoft campus. The winner will also receive a HP Touchsmart Laptop and a Canon PowerShot 10 Megapixel Digital Camera to the capture the experience.

The Windows Brand Ambassador Program started on 17th of April and ends on the 1st of June. So, if you think you can win, don't just wait! Create your content and show your love for Windows, and share it with the web!

Here's the sad part...the contest is only applicable in the USA, for those who are at least 18 years old.

The reason they don't offer a high-end gaming laptop is because they have a partnership with HP right now (note the HP laptops in all the "laptop hunter" ads).

It'll be interesting to see how this contest will be handled.. I'm wondering if it will go through to the next round given there are supposed to be 200 participants at the next round, and there aren't even 200 entrants. I think the 8 challenges are a significant factor in the lower number of entrants. It'll be a lot of work for the winner, and I think that is scaring most potential entrants away. Still, the challenges themselves (and even the lower number of entrants) will insure that those who DO enter really do want to win. I've put in an entry.. We'll see how it goes!

The contest is off and running! Microsoft has sent announcements to the 40 finalists, and I am happy to be one of the selected Windows Brand Ambassadors. Weekly challenge number one is under way. Check out the entries.
More specifically, Check out A Day in the Life of a Homeschooling mom!

Firstly, it's a bump, secondly, you're asking us to vote for you, and this isn't only spamming, it's not fair to the other contestants. I'd understand if you were a contributive member of this forum, but you just registered to make these 2 spam comments.

That's fine.. I come here to read and find out how to do stuff, particularly when I'm trying to figure out how to do something I don't otherwise know how to do.. Like messing with my automatic start-ups, options, and most recently trying to figure out how to set a default save location Windows Picture and Fax Viewer so I don't have to reset it all the time. Sometimes I find answers I need, other times I don't. Half of the explanations are over my head.

Indeed, I don't ordinarily post because I am not overly knowledgeable about Windows workings, nor am I able to offer to help. In fact, I doubt I could offer any help to 99.9 % of the questions anyway. So, I am a reader/lurker.

I was just excited about the campaign and seeing the notification posted here. Sorry to have offended you. However, I don't think it is in any way "unfair" to the other contestants because part of the contest IS to get the word out about the campaign! Being able to generate viral interest in the Windows Ambassador campaign is one of the criteria for picking the winner. ANY contestant could come here to post. Seemed to me like a Windows forum would be a good place to generate interest in a Windows campaign. Mia Culpa. It won't happen again, and I certainly don't feel excited any more. Going back to lurking mode.
