Not quite, from what i read on neowin yesterday it's only a chinese build and the english one is fake.

Also there are almost no changes visible from the screenshot, me excitement for seven is less and less every time a build is leaked <_<

Well, they're all but done with it. The only thing now will be to fix any 'show stopping' bugs and then its off to RTM...

I'm quite disappointed with the progress of seven so far, i expected more, much more - a leap like from XP to Vista. But it seems that Seven is merely Vista R2 with new functionality...

Hmm, seeing the position Microsoft was in I doubt they could get away with that. Vista was largely panned for being a leap from XP for some reason...

Guys you cannot expect too much from Microsoft these days.
They took 2 years and a half to develop Windows 7....
Which is much less than the Windows Vista development timeframe, that-s why the vista leap is higher.
So yes Win 7 it`s nothing more than a Vista that really works as it should.

Considering that this is a very WTF situation we can hope to see more competition from Linux based OS with first of all better user interfaces.

I really believe that our computers and hardware are being developed as fast as human kind can develop them. Thanks to AMD/Intel competition and ATI/Nvidia competition and more competition out there.

But that is not the case of the Software development.

We winmatricians are actually working to make computer software look better.

We should work at Microsoft !!!

P.S. How many dudes are programming Windows 7 ??? I bet they aren`t more than 20 lazy visual c++ programmers....

actually ME and 2000 shouldn't be compared at all. They use different kernels from each other, and 2000 was targeted at the office computer, ME was for the home PC.

of course, 2000's NT kernel pwnd the 9x's. So we now have XP.

It means the official RC version will be 70XX, not 71XX. :(

If there are no bugs in the RC Escrow 70xx or 707x builds, they will be re-versioned to 71xx and released as public RC.
This has been done so that they can continue working on the pre-RTM builds without affecting RC build.
