Hello WinMatrixians,

I'm AppliArt, and I'm the creator of the Vienna Transformation Pack. I come from a planet called Joejoe.org with a message for you, guys.

Vienna Transformation Pack is one of the first packs meant to look like Win7. When this pack was started, in 2006, Win7 wasn't even announced so this pack doesn't look like Win7. It's what 7 needed to be!

At this website you can download the latest stable and beta versions of the pack.

Vienna pack is released! You can download it at my website.
Downloads are as usual at the Vienna Transformation Pack website.

What's new?
  • CircuDock Thelong awaited new version of the Circular Dock, a new and fullycustomisable dock that perfectly suits the Windows Vienna style!
  • Rainmeter The incorporation of Rainmeter into Vienna gives mind blowing results!
  • Stunning new icons.
  • Cursors Say goodbye to those blue icons, hello simplicity!
  • Wallpapers We have chosen our new default wallpaper, which you can see in the Screenshots Gallery!
  • Bootskin The 3 years old bootscreen is finally replaced!
  • ViStart With updated skin!
Size?
Bigger then ever! A nice 87Mb packed, and a nice 123 Mb unpacked makes this the biggest Vienna version to date!

Support
Operating system : Windows XP SP2/SP3
HDD : 125 Mb free
Processor : PIV or AMD equivalent

The startmenu is SmartUp Menu.
The taskbar doesn't even looks like Windows 7.
The startbutton is not even rounded.
The icons are default from XP.

How can you call it a Vienna transformation pack?

Btw, welcome to WinMatrix.

My pack doesn't have any relation with Windows 7. It is MY VISION of Windows 7, what i should be...
And icons are updated now btw.
Current theme you see is Visual Style +XP

Look people,give AppliArt a break!
I saw this pack before,at joejoe.org.
He started it before Win7.
Point of this pack is not to copy Win7 look to XP.
He has his own vision of Win7.
How it should look like, before we all saw Win7 screenshoots...
I have that pack somewhere on my HDD,as far as i remember,it had a few DesktopX applications...
They wasnt bad...
And i remember that he had a WindowsBlinds skin in his pack...
Skin was not bad,but he need improvments...
So AppliArt,continue to work on your pack, but dont use SmartUp Menu...
Find someone who can help you with WB style,or do it by yourself...

P.S Sorry for bad English... ;-)

Thanks for support Neschy!
I will replace SmartUp Menu, it isn't that user friendly after all. I already have a (different) WBA theme, but it still has some finishing required.

actually, this doesn't look bad. You just need a matching wallpaper, cleaner desktop, and turn-on cleartype before taking a screenshot!

can you release/link me to those icons? also, are those icons vista-ready? (talking about the nice, blue transparent folders)

As thanks to such people like You We Developers exist - I will say work hard, it helps in every case.

Ad rem, removing that bar would help - or at last work on it's skin...

Not very constructive criticism, but it looks like an ugly version of Vista.

Then again, he's probably based it on Usability, instead of UI.

Vienna is not Windows 7 but just a code name of it in the past (remember Longhorn and Vista? So different).
Nice pack, may still need further investigation though...(Y) :D Oh btw i'll always prefer usability rather than UI (or get best of both worlds)

Isnt 7's codename Blackcomb? Vienna is 8! or is it the reverse?

The transformation pack has an Ugly bar that acts like a sidebar.
But otherwise, the Smart-up Menu is not ugly, it's just not vistart.
The theme looks original! that's what I will say.

Vienna was 7's until they changed it to Blackcomb

Yeah sorry Bro, whatever...the main point is "Vienna" is not the same as Windows 7 anymore now (if not wrong, sorry), and as he said/meant it's just based on his own vision, about how Windows 7 (or whatever future OS) should look like...I think it's still OK Bro especially for people who do love the idea. And everyman to his taste, everyone likes something different, right hehe? :D Anyway keep up the good work! (Y)

It looks good, but I prefer customizing my PC with a mixup of my own to get a real Windows 7 feeling...
