Yesterday Razor VinT posted a screenshot of Windows 7 build 7068 which he obtained from a Japanese website. Today the same build leaked on the torrent websites.

This is a screenshot form Mininova:

The users who have downloaded the ISO DVD have reported that the torrent is genuine and the build is indeed 7068.

I'm wondering who is behind all these leaks? The torrent appears less than a week after 7068's build date - March 21, 2009. Is Microsoft itself is responsible?

It is possible in many ways!

1. The keys given for build 7000 from M$ still works in this version (7068)

and for activation, windows have to connect to M$ servers and M$ servers gets the full details of your PC before activation ( your OS version, system builts etc...) so am sure M$ must be aware of the number of activation occurring

so if it's not them who leaked it, then they could have easily blocked the usage of the build 7000 keys on later builds

Because this way Microsoft will get more testers and bug reports. All of use who download and use these build and unofficial testers.
