Mary-Jo Foley just reported that from April 14th, the official free support for Windows XP and Office 2003 will end. Microsoft is offering paid, extended support for XP Professional users (who also have Software Assurance licensing contracts) until April 8, 2014. It also will provide paid, extended support for Office 2003 through August 4, 2012. But Microsoft will continues to provide free security-specific fixes for Windows XP and Office 2003.

Update: Microsoft now has stopped providing free support for Windows XP and Office 2003.

Still good enough for me, as the most important thing for me (+third party/app and driver supports) :D also included critical bug fixes etc

Edit: Also always update Xp for the security, and enhance, tweak, and/or customize it to make it better and up to date, using MS and some third party add ons, just find and use as much as you like and need. Many of them available for free. Etc.

Maybe i'll still keep Xp until 2014 or longer hehe. It's the best MS OS ever. Long live Xp! :punk:

I once called Microsoft Support on phone, that was a total waste of time.

I would prefer to ask on WinMatrix forum instead of calling Microsoft support.

Yes, and get indians answer the phone; tell them something is wrong and they'll give you a solution to another problem.
