I think you already know what I'm going to say.
Doesn't do a thing for me on XP or 7.

My computer has low hardware it doesn't have a real graphics and sound card.
but I wonder why the wobbly jelly effect is as slow as a sloth, since much things using directx (im guessing you used it since it looks like flip3d) they look fine in me. Is it some kind of optimization limit?

Actually it's redraw limit I set - moving window unhappily is CPU consuming and adding animation isn't making it easier. Though upcoming 3.0 version of jelly windows - will be better and use other deform idea ;) (to be blunt I was working on it for 8 release, but had few problems that require more time to solve)

And I'm not using DirectX - maybe one day I will learn it, but for now I prefer old school working solutions :D

Thanks for reply :)

Good and bad news: good it isn't something with app itself ^-^...bad - after quick search(You can find more explained/detailed solutions by searching for error code - I simplified those), two possibilities:
  • Antivirus/firewall is blocking Nimi
  • You might need to install newest .NET 3.5 (remember that there are service packs)
Looking forward to hearing if it worked for You :D

:D I have already added Nimi to the list for the transparency and animation features (thanks for the nice app and info)...and seems that the new release still doesn't work properly on my Windows 7 Build 7057 only, dunno why

Hmm and what do You mean by doesn't work properly? I didn't have opportunity to test Visuals 8 on W7 by myself yet.

YES!

Success with RC3!
Jelly windows works but its very laggy and it doesn't work well with aero enabled (it makes it look black).

Window Kinetics still doesn't work.

Move on transparency works 100%

Actually that's redraw limit I've set. 3.0 will be better

Seems that .NET is buggy then - window kinetics is purely relying on it (no external api usage AFAIR)

Yes! The non-active window transparency is working great on Vista for me! I haven't tested anything on XP for RC3.

Interestingly, the MS Office programs do not become transparent using the effect.

hmmmm guess I can't get handle from API - I will think of replacing it with other function then (as I decided to not use hooks anymore)

oh and glad to hear it works :D

Edit Would be grateful is someone update, put some pictures in Nimi Visuals entry in Wikipedia.org

Hmm, some more updates of programs not going transparent:
On vista, VLC media player and Explorer are both not going transparent.

And I'll just add again that an adjustable transparency would be great, because the inactive windows that are "transparent" on my desktop look like they are barely transparent. I can barely see what is behind them.
