I still think it's easier to just try it - though if I find time...except wallpaper ones I don't want to share my User picture gallery :P and using all the time my drawings doesn't seem to be good idea.... :P

Nice release and it runs good on Win7. But there are certain combinations of effects that dont work together.

And also another thing is Nimi continues to consider the desktop as a regular window. And this creates problems when I apply some wallpaper effect, then what happens is the window-effects start giving problems and all windows kinda freeze up.

I think u need to separate the modules for wallpaper-effects and window-effects. If I were u, I wud do separate dlls and call them from the main exe.

Also can u avoid using the registry and use an ini file or similar. Just for portability's sake :D

But surely this is far lot better than the last Nimi release and works beautifully in XP. I think it is surely good enough to be on the frontpage. The rewrite worked for u I see ...

Very good job. And I am excited to see where u take it from here.

p.s: ur video sounded like an ad ... I think I need to do some ads too. My uploads have started to get stolen. Like the recent portable movie maker I did. It has been flooding warez forums but under some other idiot's name. ..... Anyways ... u have a strong voice I see ... nice video tho ...

Possible - I stopped fighting with that, as some thing just can't be forced through api like to many changes in window style.

I will add selector then - it's handle is found via class and used for further recognition. Maybe they changed something again :/

I think I know what You mean - I got similar bug few times and it was mostly: api(thanks to what I've found few very interesting "disturbances on the force" I will work on) or pictures used for wallpaper generation - I've managed to put some fix on that and didn't get any more similar occurrences. Still it might happen and I will continue to trying to solve that meter.

They will be still inside. DLL is not a problem - problem is .NET that sometimes goes crazy overloads and stuff like that, example: picture highlight plugin tested on one same picture, no changes in code, gave error when it shouldn't and then on second try started to work just fine O_O

It don't use registry - setting in AppData\Nimi\

Actually that was how I wanted 0.7 too look like - but from lack of time :P

Replaced hook with timer(move detection is kind of slower, but I've managed to save some CPU power), rest as always. :)

As I always say: it can only get better ;P (except 0.7 xD ;P *joke*)

Published ~18h ago - still no one got interested in it during whole day.

So I've even made video, added on DiggIt...etc. result: simple registry app is more popular and more people know about it :/

Sorry to say but my next application will be "Something" which will do "something" and it will be chance "it will be something You were just looking for" unless "still it will be something" (btw, I'm serious about that :P I have already icon design in my mind...) ;P

P.s.: on Visuals - I'm developing something (:P) that we might say suits strategy "make it work for Yourself", will add it in nearest future

Well, if you shared more visual content i think much more users would be interested, because i discovered this program's features only now with the help of the video, before i thought - hmm, probably just does some transparency

Oh sorry about the registry. It must be a residue from earlier Nimi's.

And who said nobody is interested. 17 people are reading it as I see and ur thread got a rating too ...

Yup as before in 0.7 thread - I decided to left it as it was...and from 3rd 0.7 build core is using dat file to store information(as I couldn't manage xml to work for me and I always liked simple solutions)

Yes but still some simple registry apply application gets 100x more attention that this, not to mention some other. People should definitely be lectured on how much effort writing such application requires - then they would show some more respect to developers.

Btw, thank You for writing ~Devrexter it really counts to me m(_ _)m

Tested it.
UI looks ALOT better.
But, once again, nothing works...

It runs fine this time but the only effect working is Transparent on move... and even that has problems, its really delayed, like I move the window but it takes like 1-2 seconds of moving before it becomes transparent.

Hmm I like that effect

From memory it's set around 900ms - counting all detection timer setting. You see I rarely use on move effects and as You know I decided to use timers instead of hooks - as I can't get CBT hook to work - and still hooks aren't recommended to use. Processing all message stream - even filtering - takes more CPU than constant checking on interval (which is based upon 4 sequential timers in order to lower CPU usage)

I've already some algorithm idea how to lower those settings and keep same low level of CPU usage.

Edit funny thing on N(...)Win it has 2x more entries and posts... O_O it's like line equation

I still don't know what the issue might be :( we have discussed so many times :/ Seriously I'm thinking about asking MS on that - they should know what causes this right??? (...I'm waiting to get assured on that ;P)
