BootSkin is an application that allows users to change and create custom boot screens for Windows Vista. Unlike Windows XP boot screens, Vista boot screens are high-resolution and high-color to give you a much higher quality image.

BootSkin is now available as a free stand-alone download, which will allow users to change their boot screen to one of many available for download on WinCustomize.com . BootSkin Vista, which is a component of Object Desktop, will allow you to apply and create boot skins for Windows Vista.

The BootSkin 1.02 update includes:

* Improved upload form
* Indicate applied skin
* New Bootskins included
* Improved upload status bar

And how about on XP\Vista?

This is EXACTLY why Bootskin is free, it's made of fail

Also there is a risk of BSOD, one time i used it, and now i will never use it again.
Modifying the file manually is way safer.

Bootskin just replaces the image, it does not enhance the technology

Is there an updated version for XP...

I am using the older version - 1.05a?

Also, what about animation for XP? That would be very cool!

I have tried the bootskin program only to find out if I change the bootscreen with this program I only get the Second Vista bootscreen so I thought i should say that if this program works for some people they have to be computer exports so if you are not a computer export this program won't work for you
