This is the sticker you will see on the Windows 7 desktop and laptops.

Windows 7 sticker would be there along with the new Intel i7 and i5 logo on all the notebooks and PCs. It doesn't look as good as of Intel.

I understand when they have those from the transition of XP to Vista, but why the hell do they need those for Vista to 7? Since Vista and 7 run on the same core, shouldn't it go without saying that it will work? Unless they are still selling computers pre-installed with XP.

Its essentially a labeling system they've been doing it for years

Designed for Windows 95
Designed for Windows 98
Designed for Windows 2000, Me , Xp
Windows Vista Ready
Now Windows 7 compatible

Its really the same exact thing.
Just more corporate branding

Because if it says Built for vista compatable with 7 theat means you qualify for the free upgrade (they only distribute those stickers on computers sold during the upgrade period.

Any computer with this sticker (Windows 7 Compatible) you don't want. If you want Aero, you better get the one saying "Windows 7 Ready". There is a difference!

What's the difference? It would be bad to give people computers that ran only basics, as people would more likely buy the ones WITH all the fancy graphics. :P
