I hate the tabs on top. It's like a Chrome feature rip-off. I thought Apple was innovative :D

They actually are. They made how the functions work better than Chrome's tab functions. Making you to be able to move the window by click on the tab to make it convenient and also having a designated button to arrange the tabs and move them off.

Also, they have the BEST intro browser video than any other browser.

Safari 4 Hidden Preferences

Having a quick poke through the new Safari binary yields the following strings:
$ strings /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari | grep DebugSafari4
DebugSafari4TabBarIsOnTop
DebugSafari4IncludeToolbarRedesign
DebugSafari4IncludeFancyURLCompletionList
DebugSafari4IncludeGoogleSuggest
DebugSafari4LoadProgressStyle
DebugSafari4IncludeFlowViewInBookmarksView
DebugSafari4TopSitesZoomToPageAnimationDimsSnapshot
DebugSafari4IncludeTopSites
NB: Need to restart Safari after changing any of these.

DebugSafari4TabBarIsOnTop
This moves the tab bar back where you expect it to be:
$ defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4TabBarIsOnTop -bool NO

DebugSafari4IncludeToolbarRedesign and DebugSafari4LoadProgressStyle
When both set to NO it restores the blue loading bar behind the URL. Also puts a page loading spinner in the tab itself, which looks odd with the new tabs.
$ defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4IncludeToolbarRedesign -bool NO
$ defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4LoadProgressStyle -bool NO

DebugSafari4IncludeFancyURLCompletionList
Switches off the new URL autocomplete menu and goes back to the original one.
$ defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4IncludeFancyURLCompletionList -bool NO

DebugSafari4IncludeGoogleSuggest
Turns off the new Google suggest menu.
$ defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4IncludeGoogleSuggest -bool NO

DebugSafari4IncludeFlowViewInBookmarksView
Removes CoverFlow from the Bookmarks view entirely.
$ defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4IncludeFlowViewInBookmarksView -bool NO

DebugSafari4TopSitesZoomToPageAnimationDimsSnapshot
Disables the dimming when you click on a Top Site and it scales the screenshot up to fill the screen.
$ defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4TopSitesZoomToPageAnimationDimsSnapshot -bool NO

DebugSafari4IncludeTopSites
Disables Top Sites feature completely.
$ defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4IncludeTopSites -bool NO

Undoing changes
Just run the defaults command with the delete flag for the appropriate key you wish to delete.
$ defaults delete com.apple.Safari <key>

Wow honestly if MS did this they would never hear the end of it

But since it was Apple totally and I mean totally ripped off chrome they won't hear anything about it Lol...

Kind of saddened that they can rip things off and people go behind them and support them though im sorry.

Personally, I hate it. I actually like Safari 3 but I used firefox over it because of its addons and sometimes lower memory usage. Also, the tabs on top look really ugly, especially with different windows themes. They should at least make an option to have tabs on top or bottom and if you want to use windows native or the normal safari theme for windows. Also, the top sites thing doesn't really work, probably because of my shitty graphics card and there's no easy way to bookmark anything.

Also on a different note, firefox needs IE 8's feature where you can see all the tabs that are open as it looks good and doesn't use up too much ram and you don't need a good graphics card for it.

Well, when you really look at it. Chrome ripped off Opera with the tabs being above the address toolbar and just put it in the title bar. Safari rips off Google the same way, but added better functions and also takes up less space at the top than Chrome. Still over all, Safari handles a lot more sites better and is very impressive in this beta. So, I would recommend it over both Chrome and Opera at the moment.

It's intensional :devil:

lol, ya Apple always had a dark side, Safari 4 looks really bad in xp, it looks amazing in the vista screen shot and OSX screenshot though,

I miss the progress bar and scroll bar from Saf 3 though

Why is it so huge? 24/25MB just for a browser?

Firefox & Chrome is just 7MB and Opera is 5MB.

PS. Congratulations to me, I just posted my 100th post in winmatrix. LOL

So I've been using it all day today and I like it. I think some things are more visually pleasing than chrome, some of the toolbar icons, however the way the tabs are displayed in vista is terrible. I like how much more easily you can move the tabs around and drag them out in chrome. Also, the titlebars are terrible in vista, I guess just a minor UI bug. My main concern though, is that links in the browser that should open in a new tab, open in a new window and there isn't a way to change this other than pressing control click???

Hit the Bookmarks button (opened book button on the left side of bookmarks bar) and you can browse through Cover Flow your History, Bookmarks Bar, Bookmarks Menu and RSS Feeds + imported bookmarks

Thank you for the fast reply, I tried what you said, but don't work... i can see my bookmarks and history, but Cover Flow... don't show :no:
It's very weird... :(
Maybe in the final version, this kind of problems will be solved...
