You meant the one with percentage (like Vista)? Mmm...sorry Bro personally i have no idea

Btw it was offtopic here so i think you should create a new topic about it for more attention, hopefully there will be more people who may be able to answer :)

AMIRZ, nice work man.

My first post here, so bear with me.

I have a retail version of XP MCE. I installed all the updates and rollups to bring my MCE up to Build_5.1.2715.3011. I followed all the instructions in the readme to patch the files, and merged the registry entries. When i start Media Center, it loads the Start Menu, but when I use the keyboard, remote, or mouse to begin navigation, it freezes, and this error window pops up:

EHShell.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0xff4 (4084), Thread id=0xba4 (2980)

Click OK to terminate the application.
Cluck CANCEL to debug the application.

The problem is, it loads, and looks fine, but when I try to actually use MC, it pops up that error. Can you help me?

Uhmm!! It's hard. Something wrong with you. Try it again.
It works well for my friend on windows xp sp3 updated.
Important: "Installed"=dword:00000001

With me, I need to reinstall windows  But everything is Ok :P

I did the process again, but am still getting the same error. Would my plugins make a difference?

I am running mceWeather, MCE Customizer, and Webguide 4 for XPMCE.

:) Thanks Kyosan for confirming bro. Hi jdhenshall, first welcome to Winmatrix and thank you for the compliment mate :D . Well, it's just CLR (Common Language Runtime) debugger (DbgCLR.exe for Common Language Runtime/CLR debugging service) to debug (or terminate otherwise) MCE app with target the CLR itself (since basically the prog is written in .net language) it seems bcoz you just have problem/corrupted .net installation on your Windows (likely not with the assemblies in the MCE app i.e my patched ehshell.exe + some files) so then you have to repair it. Just run Dotnet Clean Up tool (Google or you can download it from here either: http://www.4shared.c...Clean_Tool.html ) and run it to clean up (attention: after applying this tool, usually you also have to reinstall any .net framework that you have). Then finally as said try to reinstall .Net Framework 1.1 and .Net Framework 1.1 SP1 and so on (any of .net framework/runtime that you have separately installed on your Windows up to 3.5 as/with updates), oh please note you don't need to and can't reinstall .net 1.0 since you have Xp MCE 2005 retail as you said that while it has (built in) .net framework 1.0 (1.1 SP1 is for update rollup2 with i.e gacutil.exe, updated mscoree.dll and so on) since the tool will selectively clean up only the non standard (not built in) .net frameworks with its logic i.e some later updates and so on. Hope this helps, btw sorry for my bad English :P

So basically, I need to uninstall any .Net framework I have, and then reinstall them? I only use 1.1 and 3.5. Do I need to install 2.0?

You don't need to uninstall it/them manually, instead just let the tool do the job for you by simply running it. And you only need to reinstall 1.1 later (+ 1.1 SP1) and 3.5, not 2.0 as you have only them installed before :) (btw 3.5 has included 2.0 runtimes by default)

I ran the DotNet Cleaner, and reinstalled .NET 1.1, 1.1 SP1, 3.5, and 3.5 SP1. I did the process over again, but still getting an error. This one has a different process and thread id, tho:

EHShell.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0xa08 (2568), Thread id=0xa0c (2572)

Click OK to terminate the application.
Cluck CANCEL to debug the application.

Any ideas?

This looks awesome, however I've applied to my XP MCE 2005 and now eshell.exe crashed whenever i go into My TV or TV settings or play a pre-recorded programme. Playing DVD's is fine...

^ Hello StJimmy, make sure your MCE version/build is same with the skin (ehshell.exe) Build 5.1.2715.2883 and/or 5.1.2715.3011 as i said on the first post (-> latest one, as far as i know). If not, then it could give you some error/program malfunction.

@ Hello kAtz93 and jdhenshall, sorry for long time to reply, i've just read your posts, just use dotnet clean up tool as i said above, it usually worked for any .net frameworks errors in most cases. If not then maybe the best /"easiest" way is you need to fix/reinstall your Windows, maybe (since there are many possibilities for it). Good luck anyway.

I have been waiting for this for a while, thank you very much. Do you think it will allow me to connect the media center to the Xbox 360 like you can with Vista or 7?
