Get Windows Dancer (From Windows Plus! Digital Media Enhancements) on Windows Xp (All), Vista, and Windows 7

(Yeah It Works on Windows Xp Too Of Course Lol, Especially Xp Pro and Home, Also Server 2003 & 2008)

Original Windows Plus! DME + HQ Screensavers From Xp MCE 2005 For Xp, Vista, Windows 7 (Windows All)

:) Hello Everybody,

Well, if you had Windows Xp Media Center 2005 and you upgraded it to Vista (or otherwise you only have Xp Pro, Tablet PC, Vista, and/or Windows 7 now without Xp MCE 2005) then maybe you still missed "Classic/Old" Windows Plus! Digital Media Enhancements especially Windows Dancer (a cool and funny desktop gadget application) as part of Windows Plus! Digital Media Enhancement (that contains Windows Dancer, Windows Audio Converter, Windows CD Label Maker, and Windows Party Mode) which were only available with Windows Xp MCE 2005.

For example, after upgrading if you still wanted to run their executables as usual (even completely with dlls) on Vista/Xp Pro, they would always give error messages, something like "This application only works on Xp Media Center 2005", "Windows Dancer can't start because some components are missing" etc etc and so on since they would always need to recognize/make sure the current OS is Xp MCE 2005 before they could run plus some dependencies too. So i have patched their binaries and registries (thanx to Rafael for the guide) and created installers for them all, so you can have them all running on all Windows Editions: Xp, Vista even Windows 7. Also their GUI have already supported Vista visual style/aero (as part of WDM) on Vista and 7 as well.

Especially since the latest version of Vista Ultimate Extras has still lacked them, then it might also be good to have them installed on Vista and Windows 7 as well as Xp MCE 2005 and Xp for us, all for 100% free without any stupid BS WGA validation lol :D

If you're interested, then just download and enjoy for free. Since they are uninstallable too, you can also remove them cleanly anytime if someday you don't like them anymore (clean and safe way). Again don't worry, unlike other standard Windows app installations (i.e WMP and IE as part of OS), they won't replace/hack any system file, and 100% uninstallable.

Important Note: Again they are not patched applications from Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition pack or Plus! LE Dancers (which is a payware, that meant you have to purchase it legally, yes you may still be able to run (some) of the apps on Vista too, but after purchasing the pack hehe) but only Windows Plus! Digital Media Enhancements which were originally from Xp MCE 2005 (free with the OS) but have been ported to other Windows OSes as well. So i think that there's no "warez" or legal issue at all, at least here on our coolest forum WinMatrix (as well as other permitted ports here e.g some Vista to Xp ports etc), all for 100% free here. Requirements:

Windows All (Xp Pro, Home, Tablet PC 2005, Server 2003, Vista, Server 2008, Windows 7 all editions) 32 Bit (not tested on 64 bit yet) :

- Windows Audio Converter : WMP 10 or 11/12
- Windows CD Label Maker : Printer Driver (either Virtual or Real Printer Driver)
- Windows Dancer : Only for "Dance Only With Music Plays" feature, Windows Dancer needs Audio Sound driver (which must be Xp MCE 2005 compatible, it's the only feature that may or may not work on Vista/7) installed -> (Optional though)
- Windows Party Mode : WMP 10 or 11/12 (Required)

List of Windows Plus! Applications:

There are four main applications in the pack:

1) Windows Dancer:
Displays a two-dimensional, animated dancer or pair of dancers on your Windows desktop.
2) Windows Audio Converter: Converts audio files into Windows Media Audio (WMA) or compresses existing WMA files.
3) Windows CD Label Maker (CDLM): Helps you design and print labels for your CDs and CD cases.
4) Windows Party Mode: Includes a full-screen skin that helps you use your computer as a jukebox during a party.

Only Windows Dancer i like (at least 4 me... :D just try it and i'm sure you would like it too, no promo). They use very light resource especially Windows Dancer.

Are you bored with Amanda (default dancer)? To add more cooler dancers from Microsoft (Arkantos, Boo Who?, Jade Dragon, Master Sho-Yu, Nickole & Marcelo and more for 100% free) then right click Windows Dancer systray icon and select "Download More Dancers" (Internet connection required) or by using the direct link: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...op/dancers.mspx (you have to install Windows Dancer before, WGA validation maybe required too). You can back up them later from directory %ProgramFiles%\Windows Plus\Dancer\Dancers\Downloaded (C:\Program Files\Windows Plus\Dancer\Dancers\Downloaded). Btw hey i hope that there will be striptease dancers too lol :D or at least finally she will do it too :lol:

Again, there's no need for separated MCE/Windows Media Center installation, since there is no dependency at all and the apps have been patched as said above.

"IMPORTANT UPDATE" - FREE SCOOBY DOO DANCER: :lol:

Scooby Doo Dancer from Microsoft Plus! Dancer LE ported to Windows Dancer ! :

Download Scooby Doo Dancer Port:
File Name: Scooby Doo for Windows Dancer MCE 2005.zip
MD5: d64acf7889e72c39439c004ca6877dfb
Size: Only 2,17 Mb
http://www.4shared.com/file/87847524/f02cd...r_MCE_2005.html

Extract Zip file and copy two required files: ScoobyDoo_L.dn2 and ScoobyDoo_L.da2 to directory %ProgramFiles%\Windows Plus\Dancer\Dancers (C:\Program Files\Windows Plus\Dancer\Dancers) then restart Windows Dancer. Now you can select Scooby Doo by right clicking Windows Dancer tray icon "Select Dancer".

I'll may port other dancers later

Enjoy 4 free hehe :D

========================================================

Please Note: Since some app files might have been "patched" or "compressed" (packed) to work properly on another Xp OS editions etc and it might be a necessary effort for that beside the installing code itself, then some "false alarm" or "false positive" may happen to some clean exe installers/apps /installation process (rare) although they are actually clean and safe and does not pose a threat to your system.. The term false positive is used when antivirus software wrongly classifies an innocuous ( inoffensive ) file as a virus. The incorrect detection may be due to heuristics or to an incorrect virus signature in a database.Usually some great and famous antiviruses (such as Kaspersky, AVG, Norman, McAfee, etc) won't have the such problem so far bcoz they will work better. If that happens, then you can simply ignore it and continue installing as it's guaranteed actually 100% safe and clean by me. But again, it's still 100% your own choice and right to decide.

Thanks and Credits to Microsoft, Rafael Rivera and The Green Button Also my good friend Ricktendo64 and N1K (Wincert) for their support too and of course mainly the coolest forum WinMatrix with all Winmatrixians here, thanx alot i love you all hehe. Please enjoy for free, i hope they can be useful for you (sorry if not, all done just for fun and sharing hehe) and sorry 4 my bad English. Cya :)

http://www.winmatrix...showtopic=21054

PS: You may be able to run them on Windows 7 as well (under Vista compatibility mode). You'd need to run as administrator, use Vista compatibility mode, and place d3dx9_39.dll file (which you can also get by installing DirectX Redistributale) in system32 or each game directory either. Anyway good luck, and cya... ;)

:D Thank u guys especially Kyosan, Rudy, Tonicgoofy, i'm glad if you found that useful

Secured Tim, CommonSense, comedy_guy, Syzygy, yeah there's a similar 3rd party app called Virtual Girl HD but it's a limited demo version and internet connection required (except the full paid version, you can find it on many torrents site for free though). Yeah it does look good and it's not a spyware lol :D the best way to masturbate in the font of your PC :D

But this is just original Windows app/port with Windows "taste", so it's a different case (i.e why do people still like to enhance Windows Explorer even though there are many better explorer replacements such as Directory Opus outthere? Bcoz of something "different" Devs)

Rudy it's a company secret hehe (kidding) OK here are some code, so simple change, almost no programming mind:

Use any Hex Editor (i used Flexhex, my favorite):

Change the bytes 74 08 to EB 00 on some PE executables of Windows Plus:

DANCER.EXE: Offset 0x4DA9 -> Windows Dancer
AUDIOCONVERTER.EXE: Offset 0xEE5B -> Windows Audio Converter
CDLM.EXE: Offset 0xAED9 -> CD Label Maker
PARTYMODE.EXE: Offset 0x123E4 -> Windows Party Mode

Change the bytes 74 08 to EB 00 on some screensavers:

DAVINCI.SCR: Offset 0x7F5E -> Davinci
NATURE.SCR:: Offset 0xEE5B -> Nature
SPACE.SCR: Offset 0x75F3 -> Space
WPGLDFSH.SCR: Offset 0xA4D9-> Aquarium

Some Registry Entries (some took from plusoc.inf file (%windir%\inf MCE 2005) by converting it to reg)
not all/Some/other created during ActiveX/COM registration while the remaining ones might be unnecessary/or tweaked

(Thx Rafael)

To Tonicgoofy thanx 4 the confirmation im glad if it works on 64 bit Vista too (since there's no 64 bit Xp MCE 2005 and i doesnt have it for test (confused), so the second tweak indirectly may work/even be not needed) :D
Cheers!

Yeah as i said that above the sound driver should be compatible (signed) with "old" Xp MCE 2005. Since Vista and 7 are the latest OSes with some changes of hardware architecture and driver requirements, the feature may or may not work (even it doesn't on my Xp Pro too). Btw i have already used the latest (fixed) build of Windows Dancer for compiling the installer (KB887410 - Build 5.1.2600.2580: http://support.micro....com/kb/887410) but too bad it still can't work for the current drivers.

Btw both of you can also use Virtual Girl HD for alternative 3rd party lol :D hehe
