The day after tomorrow, January 24, 2009 (availability has been extended till February 10, 2009), Microsoft will discontinue the public downloads of Windows 7 Beta, so download it now!
Remember Kevin Remde's weblog post,
“Basically what we’re doing is allowing as many downloads as can happen between now and through the 24th of January, 2009. Then at that point, if we haven’t reached 2.5 million, we’ll continue to allow downloads until the limit is reached. However, the more likely scenario is that we will surpass 2.5 million downloads, and so the beta downloads will be stopped after the 24th,”
Download it now, if you haven't already!

UPDATE
Now the shutdown of general availability for the Windows 7 Beta will occur in 3 phases over the course of the next few weeks:
- Starting January 27th, the Windows 7 page will be updated with a warning that time is running out on downloading the Windows 7 Beta and that we will be limiting downloads shortly. People will be encouraged to register and start the download of the Windows 7 Beta sooner rather than later.
- February 10th, new downloads of the Windows 7 Beta will no longer be available. People who have already started their Windows 7 Beta download and have not yet finished will still be able to finish their download and are encouraged to do so.
- February 12th, people will no longer be able to complete their download of the Windows 7 Beta. Anyone who hasn’t finished downloading the Windows 7 Beta will be unable to do so.

I am running leaked Beta 1 (pre-official realease) and I have had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER, I literally mean NONE. This leads me to believe leaked Beta 1 is more stable

The sound drivers are so bugged in Windows 7 I find, and seeing as how I use Skype as a primary form of contact, I'm stuck using Vista. I actually believe that the driver issue is worse in 7 than it was in Vista when it was released. I prefer 7 or Vista, but the lack of sounds is a big no-no.

All my drivers in Beta 1 worked fine, however in 6801 my sound and graphics were so crap I may aswell have installed Vista Basic..

I don't know about that. I'm running the 64bit version from Microsoft and I have had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER! None at all. In fact I have made it my primary OS for now.

When the bugs kick in, you'll regret it

The 7000 build was compiled on Dec 12, 2008, and was tested internally for next couple of weeks, and when it met the quality standards of being a Beta, it was decided that this 7000 build will be the (first) Beta. It got leaked, and later on, got released as Public Beta. So both the builds are same.

Well I have not had any problems for nearly a month now.
I have rigourously looked for Bugs and have not found ONE yet, I don't see how I am going to now...
Windows 7 remains my Main OS till the next installment of Windows 7 OR until Ubuntu 9.04 is released, which I am considering switching to.
