COD 4 doesn't run :(

What error did it give ??

Some of my games didnt run either coz of missing directx dll's. Just needed to rename a few already present in Windows7. And now they work fine.

With the directx dll's... you need to install directx9&10 updates to play it.. http://www.microsoft.com/directx

IDK, all I got when I lunched the game was a black screen of death.

What exactly did you do?

GTA IV bug:
The setup won't work.

Solution:
You have to right click on setup.exe and change the compatibility to Windows XP SP2. Then you have to change the compatibility of GTAIV.exe to run the game.

I'm using windows 7 in a cyber cafe or lan house here in mexico and many customers want to play lan games.
All our installe XP or Vista games run absolutely great in windows 7...sometimes they seem to load faster than xp.
It will actually get even better after tuning Windows 7 with VLite.

BUT !!!
When our customers try to play LAN games with other computers many games seem to fail.

Far Cry 1 gives me an error message loading multiplayer maps and Need For Speed Underground 2 cannot creat a server because it cannot connect to EA online...in vista or xp it never gave that error.

I disabled all firewalls and stuff and the problem still persists but i´m pretty sure it´s some firewall or security restriction that affects some game.

Another bug I discovered: I can no longer eject my external HDD, as I get the message "device display object function discovery provider has stopped working" and then that there are no objects for removal. Even though there are at least two. I have to use another USB removal tool:/ It never happened to me before.

Another funny bug in Windows 7:

1. Click on Start ORB and make sure that startmenu contains at least one program shortcut in left side pane which is expandable.

2. Now expand the program shortcut by clicking on the arrow or by hovering the mouse cursor over it.

3. Once the Tasks list is shown, hover your mouse cursor on any other program shortcut so that the Tasks list gets disappeared.

4. Now the bug will appear. As you can see in the screenshot, the user picture will disappear from the top of start menu. Even you hover your cursor over any item present in right-side pane, the user pic will not appear:

If you exit from start menu and re-open it, the user pic will appear again.

Okay I have two bugs.

WMP does not load. I open it. And it freezes right away. And I have to end the process. It used to work, but now it just has a white screen with only controls and options showing.

Second, sometimes when I open Windows Explorer. It's only a white screen with the aero border. Nothing else, no folders showing, no navigation bar. Nothing.

EDIT: AHHH MY FIRST BSOD IN LIKE 5 YEARS! :o

Win7 was really good. Now it's starting to bug on me :(
Looks like it won't be my main for a while.
