Been using it for a while.
Yes, the build is 14.0.8050.1202, same as the RC. It was only revealed at the CES 2009, that the Live Wave 3 is out of Beta, and now bundled as Windows Live Essentials.

Microsoft does not provide standalone individual setup installer for each application now, however, the setup file for them can be retrieved from sub-folders inside \Program Files\Common Files\Windows Live\.cache\ folder after installation completed successfully.

They have the complete Live Essentials suite for download.
The offline installer is available for download from Microsoft here:
Windows Live Essentials offline installer(134 MB)

You can get the offline installer for WLM from here:

Strange, I don't have any issues with it so far.

Weird problem you have there...
Try this:
Save your contact list to your desktop from 8.5
Contacts > Save IM Contacts

And import them into 9.0
Contacts > Import IM Contacts

Should work.

tried it a long time ago. I tried everysinglef***kingthing i knew, including deleting my messenger cache, altogether with my custom emoticons and backgrounds. Nothing worked. My brother is having the exact same problem. We both have downgraded to 8.5 since (pity, right?)

Googled the problem, still nothing. Even if there was a solution, I tried...and epic fail.

Weird thing is, it works on my vista, and not on XP.

i'll go get it when I really, really, think that windows7 has deviated from windows vista at least about 70%. Kinda early right now if you ask me.

<_< Umm....The final version of windows live 2009 has been out for atleast a month now...where have you guys been?

Quick question though. Those downloads for windows photo gallery and windows live mail are they updates for those already installed on windows vista or are they separate from them?

a month? nahh. They only removed the beta tags from thier apps a month ago. The official release and announcement of WLM9 final was only recent. Expect your friends to get this, and spice up your convo windows with each other's scenes, baby! :woot:

too bad they removed signature sounds. I loved that feature.
