It looks like high tech winmatrixians are looking well into the future with windows 7...
nobody talks about vista anymore which is great.
So can we use vlite for windows 7 ? or we will have to wait for another brand new 7LITE release ?
i want to create a minimized unattended installation of windows 7.
Imagine a super fast Windows 7 Unattended CD.

If you found any information about it or you want to start this project write in this topic.

Also did you notice that windows 7 feels a little like a vlited edition of vista.......
faster and lighter.

I think you need to update your video driver to work with aero...

I have already done it. Its a 1.2GB iso and took 4.6GB installation space.

So far its working good.

U need to download vLite, setup Microsoft WAIK ( 1.2 GB download :P ) and work ur way ..... its tough .... I "wasted" 12 hours.

DONT remove manual install it wont work. Dont remove WinSxS either. Here'e my session.ini file. Wont work with urs ( drivers are sure to be different ), but u can refer it what to keep and what not to ...

Maybe (probably) i'm stupid but Vista (ultimate) runs great on my computer... i can't imagine (i do believe you guys) that 7 runs 'faster'... i do know XP (Pro +sp3) has slower 'reactions' on this pc...

When i click on something (open my computer, start a program or whatever) it starts right away... no slow down or whatever... Only with some apps that need UAC acceptance it can take some time before the UAC screen pops in.....

The weirdest thing is my pc isn't that fast, it's 'only' (good enough for me though) a Core2duo E6750 (2.66) with 4 gb (only 3 gb working on 32bit os) mem...

Am i the only one that thinks Vista is perfect... or atleast 'good enough'??......

What are you smoking on??

I did an unattended vista cd, i think the default dvd size is 2.+ gigs,

i now burned it to a cd-r, with only 580 mb of vista size

I remove all things i don't need, what is working is aero and the cool stuff, it is working good till now,

Lord Devrexster YOU ARE THE MAN !

I thought it might be possible because of the many similarityes between vista and 7 but i didn't know it was stable or worth it.
I didn't even try because i don't have time for that.
But since you are brave and did it, i will do that as well.
So for the guys that want to install 7 in a 256mb system or want a faster os there is this option.

For the guys that want to keep the original, boring, plain, and untuned 7...well they already have it....

I want to make a point about one vista/7 difference.
When the vista came out i criticized the vista performance in some microsoft forum because of the lag i get between double clicking a shortcut and the time it takes to open that program...and even if it´s a small one like notepad it would take too long...
microsoft addicted and brainwashed employees told me that they didn´t know about what i was talking about...

but the reality is that with xp you don´t have that lag delay.

Now that lag delay is gone again with windows 7, i see a slight pointer movement delay when i have aero on in windows 7.

i hope vlite will keep working with every windows 7 edition, expecially RTM.

To integrate language pack for example. Proffessional version now available for students via MSDNAA does not give possiblity to install lngpack, also available - this is possible only in ultimate and enterprise version. So there must be any other way to do it with SevenPro...

Well your "just ok" machine runs well in vista. Imagine what it can do in 7, and by the way remember that Core 2 Duo is by far the best processor built up to the moment (nov 2009). Runs cool, good cache, well more than enough for a home PC. Have tried Core 2 Quad at my home server and of course runs faster, but not so much for the money I paid for it. Have run all OSs. The best up to the moment windows server 2008. 7 is great for laptops. Let´s not foget how important windows Vista was for the evolution of the new laptops (Directo comunication with wardware)... and you are not crazy. For most of the people Vista runs "perfect".

Just forget about a new release for windows 7, the project is alredy died for windows vista, because i heared that the author (nuhi), was hired by Microsoft and currently working with them, this is the main cause why he stopped the developpment of his project for more than year.

Yeah, you're either high or don't understand how to use a tweaking program. Or both. VLite does NOT corrupt crapsta, you simply told it to remove required programs. When you mouse over a file line, if it doesn't tell you what the packet does, DON'T remove it. if it says "CAUTION!", make sure you actually understand what the blasted packet does BEFORE you remove it. the main thre functions of nLite and vLite are 1) to remove unwanted/unneeded software and programs (better known as bloatware), 2) add in drivers and service packs, and 3) set the installer to automatically, within certain parameters. If you accidentally removed all display adapter capability or removed the ability to access the ethernet or wireless adapters, well hey, that just shows how special you are.
