Original post:
For those of you patiently *ahem* waiting for the official release of the Windows 7 beta bits, Like me, You're going to have to wait just a little bit longer. Paul Thurrott has just released the Windows 7 beta timetable:
Quote Today, on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will take the stage at the Palazzo Ballroom in the Venetian hotel and casino in Las Vegas. He will announce, among other things, the arrival of the Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Beta releases, both of which will be made available to the public this week.
On Thursday, January 8, 2009, Microsoft will make these two products available to subscribers of the MSDN and TechNet services.
On Friday, January 9, 2009, Microsoft will make the Windows 7 Beta and the Windows Server 2008 R2 Beta available to the public via four different locations on Microsoft.com, each of which is oriented towards a different customer type. I don't have exact URLs yet, but suffice to say that the download availability will be obvious. I will update this article when possible with specific download links.

Update 1: It was announced at 6:53pm PST on the 2009 CES keynote that windows 7 is now released to Connect testers, Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) and TechNet subscribers for download.

finally
1 more day!
i have a question though.
code wise, is the official release any different than the leaked one?
and on the msdn site they mention the mp3 error
Quote Update to Windows 7 Beta (KB961367)
To protect your MP3 files
1. Before you install this Beta release, back up all MP3 files that might be accessed by the computer, including those on removable media or network shares.
2. Install the Beta release of Windows 7; download and install the Update to Windows 7 Beta (KB961367) located on this page.

There is no cracked version. You have to be a beta tester and get a key from Microsoft even after installing the leaked torrent version.

Got my copy from TechNet.
The build is same as the "leaked one".
But an update is available for the reported MP3 bug, along with the Release Notes, Language Pack, Windows Driver Kit Release 7.0.7000.1, Checked build and A notice from MPEG LA, LLC about the H.264/AVC Visual Standard (which I don't think many people would be interested in, but it's on TechNet and MSDN, so target audience is different).
