Ok this is not something very amazing. But I was searching for some app like this ...unfortunately ...

Posted Image

This is the first app of 2009 by me :)

POPCON

Download Page - http://devrexster.googlepages.com/home

Attached File  PopCon.txt (1.08K)
Number of downloads: 610

What it does is it lists all the files and subfolders within a folder,
so that it becomes quite easy to browse in the form of a menu. Check screenshot.
The menu comes up at the current mouse position.

So what u can do is u can launch it from a dock, the quicklaunch bar, a general shortcut etc.

Ya I know some docklets can do this but u cant browse subfolders
in them and they dont show any preview of the files either.
This app can show preview images of most common file formats.
And u can control the transparency of the menus too. Instructions
are within the zip file.

This is not something that loads any monitoring app in the
computer's memory. The menu just comes, u launch something or click outside, and it goes ;)

Really no bells or whistles, but its fast - I mean extremely fast -something usable rather than being eyecandy :D

Doesnt push any registry entries - completely Portable. So try it and let me know.

p.s: I am out of ideas :( ... maybe u can help :D

A taskbar toolbar can do the menu thing, but the image preview is a useful addon. (Y)

Firstly, fantastic app Dev (that why i download almost all your software creations).

Here are 2 apps that does the same thing but a little better :
1.MenuApps- http://www.desktopap...uk/menuApp.html
2.ShortPopUp- http://www.digitalli.../pc/ShortPopUp/

Each one is has its strengths and I hope you can add some of there ideas into your's.

Menuapps has a nice server feature for loading particular (Large) menus on startup (please try to add this to your app and the inclusion of icons).

ShortPopUp has no server feature but it does have transparency, you can change colours of the menus and previews images.

Anyway I hope I was helpfull...

by the way i'm not getting previews for video files,I'm using k-lite mega codec pack on XP Pro Sp3.

Wow, thanks for the post.

If I wud have found these one day earlier, I wudnt have needed to program this. :P But mine is smallest - 94 kb , hehe :D

When u install Klite pack , there is an option for enabling previews of video files. Ya I know its hard to spot becoz there are sooooo many options in the installer of Klite. I think u missed it at that time.

Thank u for trying out my softies :D

Where do we add the command lines to get the picture previews and transparency?

A screenshot of where to put it would help too.

Love this app but would it be possible to add a menu width command? Something that limits the maximum width? I have an occasional long file name that makes the menu take up half the screen sometimes. Something like "-maxwidth XXX" Would this slow it down?

Cool app. I've been using Popsel for some time now. Very similar. http://home.mnet-onl...st.muc/wpop.htm
