Microsoft is going to release Windows 7 beta build 7000 in the first week of January 2009 but many Chinese and Russian websites have already gotten their hands on it and have uploaded the ISO on various servers and BitTorrent. The ISO is 2.44 GB and the language is English. The leaked version is x86 (32 bit).

Windows 7 has the version number 6.1.7000.0 (winmain.win7beta.081212-1400). The build will expire on 7/2/2009.

hmmm... I'll try it :) If it's real then using it won't be an issue. I can just activate it later when Microsoft releases the final in Jan. If the small issues are fixed that I had in 6956, then using this beta won't be a problem as a main OS.

Main problems I had with 6956:

1. Full screening videos on websites froze the OS.

2. Couldn't upload an "Url Item" with Windows' Manager.

3. Internet Explorer needs to improve! So, I can take advantage of the quick menus.

4. My Wireless drivers didn't auto detect. Had to install them manually, which on Vista they did.

Thanks for the information, but I'll wait for the official release so that I can use a legit serial key.

Mine is 92% :P

I'm going to install this one now, and wait for the key to be released to me, THEN install it. Like Villain said.

There is actually no point in waiting for it now!

Still downloading, will make a comment when finished installing. As I'm in China now, the download speed is incredibly slow compared to the US (average 25 KB/sec)

Finished downloading, gonna install on Virtual PC or on another PC.

Is this build faster or slower, man ?? Some people say it slower and they can't enable gadget. I have build 7000 but I still use 6956.
