I will give you people link on how to really make your pc look like a mac because i know what a mac looks like because i have one.

This will make your gui partially look like a mac with os x adds all kinds of stuff icons new my computer new system prefs explorer bar and other things.
Panther Service Pack

This link is for an objectdock theme that looks like the one from os x. Change background once loaded to default white with transparency about half way.Object dock os x

This next one is for a clone of the os x panther finder great app works exactly like the one from os x you can even use color lables and change icons by dragging your icon over the one you want to change Finder

This one is a clone of os x system PreferencesSystem Preferences

This one is for objectbar theme panther bar

Icalendar cloneIcal

Safari clone safari

here is a os x visual style and no you dont need styles xp from tgt soft because the service pack panther above replaces the theme dll files which will allow you to apply any virtual style

LOL @ Bourne

it really pisses me off when people like you dont read the information available with things you download. install them and get errors and have your computer crash then have the balls to complain to the person who was just trying to help you.

the error was proba bly you used a shell pack for the wrong version of your system files etc. it should also be known you didnt have to reinstall your computer but you probably freaked out because you fear your parents :P

look to be honest your computer looks nothing like a mac.. not even close at all. and if your wanting to get it to look like somewhat close to a mac then you are going to need to be prepared to use shell packs. especially those by the likes of flyakite. who do amazing installers and uninstallers but you must make sure your files are updated to the same point as his pack otherwise you get trouble. the shell packs organise the display settings etc to the style similar to what you get in mac. your also gonna want windows blinds so you can atleast get the glyphs on the correct side of the window.

dont go blaming peter for your own mistakes bourne. learn to read and use your intelligance in what you do and understand the risks.. i myself have been making shell packs (some time ago now when i did that) and using many shell packs as well as GUIR which edits system files and i have never had a computer crash on me simply because i read the information provided with it.

Well, that post was certainly wrong on multiple levels.

First of all, you obviously don't realize that when people are getting started with skinning and stuff they generally are not extremely fluent at what they are doing. In fact, for people just starting, it's difficult to even keep all the different applications apart, as far as what they do and such.

Shell Packs are not the only way to get your computer looking like a Mac. WindowBlinds or StyleXP themes can do the windows, and some nice applications can mimic things like the Finder and Panther Desktop.

Besides, not all people want a complete transformation, particularly if they are the type of person (such as me) who like to switch their desktop frequently on the fly, from Mac to Windows and pseudo-OS type themes.

No, he wasn't completely right in blaming Peter for messing up his computer. But don't go dissing people just because you apparently consider yourself superior to others (LOL! PH33R M4H L33T SK1NN1GN SK1LLZ!!1!!oen!!1). And as for that jab at him "fearing his parents", that was just... childish.

i hate people that fear their parents.. i see too many people scared to stand up for themselves. if his parents arent gonna notice that the computer has had a total reinstall then they obviously arent going to miss the computer for the night while going into recovery console and fixing things. but then agian he would need to read instructions and obviously he isnt aware how to do that as he has stuffed his computer with 2 from 2 shell packs so far.

but to your comment my main point im saying here is he doesnt read the readmes like 90% of people out here and that pisses me off. when i was doing something i was unsure of i would read the info and ask questions first b4 applying.

like all those people who complain about messenger plus! having spyware because they didnt bloody read what they were agreeing too. its just plain stupidity.

i would think after trying gant this guy would have learnt to read the required information or ask some questions about it prior to doing it again. but he stupidly did it again.

i have nothing against people starting out but when they repeatedly do such stupid things (eg gant first then mac) without seeking information they need and fuking up their computer i have no spympathy at all. as i have no sympathy for those who installed the spyware with msg plus!

im not claiming im 1337, im just claiming i got some bloody intelligence in my head to read the read me and warnings and follow instructions and ask questions.
there are instructions for these things for a reason.

i get sick of people blaiming others for trashing their computer when it wasnt their fault but rather the fault of the user.
