I have installed Windows 7 build 6956 on a separate partition but I really want the taskbar hovering feature and windows flip feature, which requires the Aero effect.
Is there any way to enable it on an unsupported graphics card. The way to enable it on vista home doesn't work with Windows 7.

I don't think so, it's like enabling aero on vista with unsupported graphics card.

Thats not aero though its just the gui with no transparency and no hardware rendering

^ That's Vista Home Basic's standard theme, not Aero!But it is possible to do it in vista with an unsupported graphics card.

yeah it's just the gui with no transparency, but I think there is hardware rendering.

I never said vista was slow- I actually like Windows 7 for its better security and low resource use. I just want to have the taskbar hovering feature and window flip feature.

i think u should wait a little bit. with the beta release in jan, these patches will be everywhere.
sorry to say that aero will use a lot of resources and u will not experience it properly on unsupported hardware.
