Ok, so lets see what yall think of this.

The follow up to Notepad 2008.

XP and Vista compatable! Made using .NET 2, so no extra libraries should be needed for Vista users.

A few more features are in now, and more to come.

All are documented in the screen shot, so i wont repeat myself.

IF you know of any other web site that is hosting this file (rapidshare, megaupload, freefile, etc...) please notify me!
I need for the file download counter here on dA to keep an accurate count so i can know how much more time and effort to add in to it.

This is JUST the RC1 of Wordpad 2009. I am currently struggling to add in Syntax highlighting for Multiple Scripting and Programming languages, along with "Save as PDF".

Those features should be in relatively soon, but are not in this version.

comments are really needed. looking for praise and even flames.
but no "i hate teh Ribbon!!!11!1!!!111" please. i am looking for comments on how it works, not how it looks.

although it IS pretty :D

Awesome!!!!1!!1!one!!!

Is there a way i can replace this with the regular Win XP notepad because this is about 100x better.
Also, in the future will I be able to write C++ apps with this?

EDIT: Some bugs I noticed
*Tab doesn't work for indentation
*The invisible button to the left of General gives me a blank window.
*Can't change fonts. To clarify, I can change the font with the drop down menu but when I try to type with that font the font isn't changed to the one I selected.

i am trying now to get working, flicker free syntax highlighting in place. as far as compiling, no, but you can use it to write your modules and headers and footers and such with it.

*tabs for indention ... had not though of that. good catch.
* the invisible button is supposed to be ... invisible. LOL!
*hat is what the "check" next to the font box is for. the way that i am listing the fonts is ... strange, so i am doing that as a work around. i k\think i know how to ix it though.

Happy to help :), especially since you made this on your own free time for the world to have. Thanks for answering so quickly. I haven't found any other bugs and I've been using it to put down some of my favorite Guitar tabs so I always have them on hand if I go offline. Also, I'm lovin the tabs.

the Drag and Drop from explorer and open in a new tab was really a last minute idea. like, 2 minutes before i called it final RC status.

thing is, this is NOT a MDI (Multiple Document Interface) app, i just used a few good tricks to make it seem like that it was.

Lol. I was trying to boost my post counts with the aid of silly comments, but you're right, your contribution is much more relevant.

thanks for the replies gang!
Download has only been up for a bit more than 4 hours, and dA tells me that i have had 131 downloads so far.

not bad. i think i just broke every record for every app i ever made!

(i will start adding in syntax highlighting tomorrow)

and Kuztumyze, it is ok. i appreciate it.
Wow, i agreed with endrit10. Who would have thought it?
*biggrin*
