Hey guys sorry i'm just back (was out of Jakarta) :D

@spaceboy i'll check it later when i have time mate, thanks for the report :)

@Guest lol as i said (already mentioned on the first post though) it's just "false positive" by your AV. i can guarantee that all of my works here are 100% clean although they are still provided "as is". It's just because the packing type that was used by 3rd party installer creator (sorry i can't mention the brand for some ethical reason) to repack the program + some patched function (maybe), so some AV would give false warning. However if you're really using some well known and great AV programs (such as AVG, McAfee, Kaspersky, Norton, MS Security Essential etc - assumedly false alarm=free) then they won't give such warning. If you try to do a full scan after installing (by any AV), i bet you won't find anything "bad". But yeah maybe i'll repack the programs using another ins packer when i have time in near future, to prevent such issues. But if you still don't trust me, yeah sorry for the incovenience and just do not install the program, thanks for the post anyway. ;)

Talking about malwares (surely i hate them so much lol), by the way i'd like to give away some legal/genuine serials of Kasperky IS (Kaspersky Internet Security / KIS) 2010 for 183 days / 6 months only to some WinMatrixians especially who use KIS and may need it to renew the license here later on this forum (separate post). Since they are legal/genuine, it won't get blacklisted. Just wait some hours soon please or tomorrow hehe, OK cya later. :P

Is it possible to port the "Handwriting recognizer engine" from Windows 7 retail to XP? The TIP "interface" does not really matter for me, I just need more "accurate/smarter" recognizer via some new neural? learning API in Windows 7

Thanks

^ It might still be possible, but so hard to do, sorry :( at least the "old" XP recognizer engine is still good enough for me so far (btw i'm using 7 too)

I am so pleased with this page of information.
You are the only one who has helped me to get my software fully functional on a downgrade from VISTA to WIN XP PRO on HP tx2113cl.
Thank you very much.

Just bought a newest Packard Bell VISEO 200T (meant to be compatible ONLY with Windows 7), with a HP dc 7100 Pentium IV (second hand) running XP Pro SP3, and just after installing .NET 1.1 + update and TIP, it works!!

Thanks so much for well organised info, it's been worth the reading.

Side thought: are they selling us same shit/ different day? Maybe computer industry is not so different from car industry, after all...

UPDATE on previous post
it has worked all fine for a few weeks, but this morning it simply stopped being there... I have tried "reparing" Xp Tablet PC Recognizer Pack, and reinstalling, without success. Apparently the HID service was down, set to automatic, and gave error 126 not finding the dll. I have restored it from /i386 folder to /system32, and it worked, but touch screen features are not back, and it doesn't appear to notice USB plug/unplug...

I'll keep on trying and updating results, but if some has other ideas to fix it, or a list of services to be checked for errors... it'd be very helpful, as it's quite busy in the shop these days, and I need to get it working.

Great thread, no doubt, and thanks again for making things easier.

Fantastic post and thorough work. thanks for all of the information.

My question is there a silent switch for TIPSetup.exe the usual ones don't work (i.e. /s -s /QN /Quiet /silent)

Thank you so, so much for sharing this information! I'm running XP SP3 on my Viliv S5, and being able to use TIP has made such an enormous difference!!

I do have two things to add. I found that I was missing c:\windows\system32\taskkill.exe so I ended up downloading that from http://members.ziggo...askkillexe.html plus I ended up snagging floattip.exe ( http://www.tweaks2k2...es/floattip.zip ) to put in my Startup folder.

So, you may want to include these two files if you ever update your zip file.

Again, many thanks!!!

i joined this site specifically for this thread, i really love the idea, but even after all the work you put into it, there are still flaws. first off, i love the interface of the first one, but i hate how it doesn't insert properly, its a dirty shame too, its great, the other one is nice too, but doesnt have the same feel, if only there was a way to get the other one to work like that.

I did every fix on here and nothing fixed the insert on the first one for me but idk, its not letting me install the .net shiz because it says im updated already, and when i uninstalled and reupgraded still didnt matter.

yeah, i love this prog, and it would be really nice to have.
