This is the first time when Apple suggests that Macs also need an anti-virus software.
Read the kb note here.

They mention three antivirus programs, Intego VirusBarrier X5, Symantec Norton and McAfee VirusScan.

We know it was going to happen sometimes. As more and more people switched to Mac, I'll bet more and more hackers will switch as well.

Steve Jobs can't say Macs are virus-free anymore...

This makes it about equal with Windows.

different directory structure. sure you could get something, but due to a binary incompatability, the virus would only infect the emulated / wine apps.

Linux Binaries are different from Windows binaries.

and your running linux. name me one app that you NEED from the Windows OS that does not have a Linux equivalent. so yeah. unless your running some custom windows app that was made just for your business, try looking for a replacement that was made with QT or GTK. odds are it is out there.

It was bound to happen... The reign of the mighty Apple approaches it's end!

Like I say... the day Apple beats Windows will be the day of its ultimate demise. But that will never happen, will it?

I think we really got to them, maybe Steve Jobs wanted to let the world know that day that Mac OSX isn't so safe afterall.
