VTP 9.0 RELEASED (12-11-08)
Well, it's supposed to be released in late June 2008. However, due to various circumstances, I'm still amazed myself that it could have gone this far to nearly a year gap release from 8.0 to 9.0. However, I didn't sit idlely during these months doing nothing for sure

Vista Transformation Pack 9.0 Keynotes:

New 3rd-party applications
ViSplore - Vista Glass explorer simulator
Vista Drive Icon - adding free space percentage in your drive icon like Vista explorer
Vista Rainbar - Lightweight Vista sidebar based on Rainmeter that even consume less resources than real Vista Sidebar

Improved 3rd-party applications
ViStart - Files indexing for documents search, improved reliability and compatibilities
ViOrb - Improved graphic and reliability (C++ re-written)
TrueTransparency - Improved reliability with improved AeroStyle's glass border
WinFlip - Improved stability and reliablity

New functionalities
Setup personization - Allow customizing Vista experiences upon installation without access to Welcome Center
Windows XP Service Pack 3 compatibilities - Now you can enjoy Vista themes after installation with Windows XP Service Pack 3
x64 compatibilities - More secured x64 installation without getting hurt by incompatibilities

There're also a lot of bug fixes and refinements in the program but let's just keep it simple with these for now. You can experience the rest later by yourself.

I used VTP back in the days when I still used XP (around this time last year). VTP does a good job at making XP look somewhat like Vista, but like henrydtv said, it's not perfect...

fediafedia, it's not designed for Vista young nerd who wants to duplicate every possible Vista UI looks for XP. I designed for what it fits the system for smooth looks, not bloated and unsettled for myself.
henrydtv, it's already in long past that happened to very earlier versions but now no user ever face it after 8.0.1
Corn Muffin, VTP took effort in developing original applications. This includes ViStart, ViOrb, and ViSplore. Without VTP's existance, you wouldn't see these since those projects are meanted to be developed as part of VTP's introducing features.

It's good for many users who is not enough time for desktop. Many time ago when I don't know how to make a new GUI, I alway use VTP.
VTP is a best choice

Impossible to archive the same Vista UI looks. And exact replica for graphic resources without these three is pain for my eyes.

My two cents, though.

1. fyi WB has some pretty sweet blur for almost a year now
2. Can be somewhat replicated by doing a right image and setting the correct margins.
3. Antialising isn't important for a average user

A exact replica of something is never possible, but a almost exact one - always.

well, I actually tried to find ViSplore

It's not really "existant" though. only available until Christmas or by VTP
but it has lotsa bugs

viorb is not good enough, Im actually trying to make my own (failure)

but vistart is very very good.

and im not sure if lee is really doing it for VTP.
the thing i like is made by you and lee, owell...
