[RC1 Released]
ok, this is a Windows 7 inspired Ribbon UI Notepad.
Yeah, i want to beat Microsoft to the punch. :D

After having seen screen shots for the Windows 7 build of Paint (Google it), i got Inspired.
Anyway, Is done in C#.net and VB.net. Seeing as how this is one of my first C# apps, a notepad type editor is a good beginning app.

Anyway, It has only Notepad type functionality now, i would like to get it up to WordPad (advanced txt and rtf) functionality soon.

YES, it uses up RAM, because of how it does MDI and such, I am working on making the requirements much less.

Notepad 2008 by Villian

Haha you like to spell it "Villian"

P.S. IT LOOKS SHEXY

You should make your own Orb on it, instead of that ugly square replacement :)

yeah, i will admit that i am dyslexic.

seeing how the trend in monitors is 'bigger and WIDEscreen', shouldn't developers be putting toolbars on the sides instead of on top.. Especially a FAT toolbar like these ribbon-ones. Just my thought... I think I'll start a new thread about this and have ppl debate it.....

Why not have the choice of moving it to the side or the top?

Thanks Vishal. I am doing a slight update, a nice person suggested that i add .ini and .inf to the common dialog filter, and i am working a bit on the ribbon, also, making the line numbers optional.

I'm mostly a lurker and not a poster, but this time I really feel the need to congratulate you, Villain. You made an excellent job.
Actually, I congratulate and thank you for all the great work you make and how you just release it as freeware.
I swear I will pay you somehow for all this, because you certainly deserve it.

Cheers :)

payment is nice, and really appreciated :D, but freeware goes a lot further than paid apps. besides, this way, my apps can't be made in to "warez" because there is no such thing as a freeware warez app. :D
