First Google chrome theme - just converted everything to a blackish tinge

download "default.zip", extract default.dll to following folder

for vista :
x:\Users\*Username*\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\0.2.149.27\Themes\

for xp :
x:\Documents and Settings\*Usename*\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\0.2.149.27\Themes\

Check attached screenie for preview ...

p.s: Want to make ur own theme check here : http://www.winmatrix...showtopic=19879

EDIT : Fuzion here has pointed out that my theme looks completely similar to his "Dark" theme.
So here is the download link.
Download at NukeIt.org

I must admit it does but considering the fact that all I did was grey-scale all the pictures in the themer's kit I posted here it shud look same. Full credit to him for "Dark" theme.

OOPS !! someone else did this too ...

well I assume this is the first thing u can do with the images that I posted at the thread I made about skinning Chrome. So yeah after that all I did was convert all images to black & white . I think the other person did this too ..... quite obvious thing to do since I do not posssess any special graphics skills.

Are you kidding me? You are really going to claim that theme is yours...
Funny how the PNG files inside your file have the same MD5 as mine.

EXCUSE ME , but how exactly are u getting the png files from within the dll and then asking me about the same md5. Thay are NOT stored as png files but as binary data so they are bound to be have the same MD5

I do see that mine is similar to urs and since u released it first I can close this thread and delete the deviation if u say so but please dont say that I ripped u - I have been working on it for four hours and before that I did a thread about how to skin Chrome - and since I was the first to post that on the whole internet so why not I claim that u stole my technique - how about that ehh ??

I think with a little more mutual respect we can come to some terms.... I am eager to hear from u...

edit: I added ur link too in the main post ... hope u will be satisfied <_<

Other than WinMatrix and Neowin there are so many other tech sites where I visit daily. I'm sure that Devrexster was the first one who came up with the "Google Chrome Themer's kit" just after a few hours of the launch of the browser. So I'm confident that he can't be blamed for ripping a theme.

It is possible that we did the exact same theme, but I really did get there first :)

Add that to the fact that your file (among many others):
Posted Image
Has the exact same MD5 sum as mine, 527987e24a2a9959afc1f58c51e6b704.

Regardless, have you figured out a way to skin the start page? It uses an html file inside chrome.dll but I haven't figured out how to replace it without putting the new one back inside the dll.

no offense, but it seems as if your having a "Who's is bigger, mine or yours" contest.
the answer? who gives a damn. yall both cracked the code, and Dev made a Kit for every one, making it save time.

YES, they both would have the same md5 sigs, the images come from the same damn place. you saying that they should not is like saying the every linux iso that you download (from sever to your PC) should have a different md5 sig, sut they dont. 1 file will allways give the same md5.

get the f**k over your self.

a black theme was allways known to be the first hack that people would do. use sime imagination and do somehting Original. change the size of the tabs. alter the size through use of Magic colors, or transparents. make a new look.

altering to greyscale is cool, but not original.

so if your going to bitch over who did somethign first FUZION, then get the hell over it. dates can be changed and modded.

STFU and thanks both of you for the work, showing other modders how to do so.

Glad that we came to some form of terms fast enough

About ur queryy

the files for the skinning the start page are in

\Chrome\Application\0.2.149.27\Resources\Inspector\Images

directory. Will go and add that to the Chrome skinning thread. ;)
Happy modding mate !! And we better forget the little misunderstanding between us (Y)
