If you want to convert existing XP .msstyles for use with WindowBlinds, we have created a stand-alone tool.

XP .mmstyles converter (dead link)
XP .mmstyles converter (mediafire mirror)
XP .mmstyles converter (rapidshare mirror)

:)

Now that's great! Can I convert Windows XP visual styles to WindowBlinds format and use them on Vista?

Absolutely. Some might need touching up with SkinStudio 6, but I haven't had much need to do that.

Yep! It works great too folks, only a couple of minor issues that I have already addressed to Stardock, and if those get fixed this converter will port .msstyles right over to the WB format in snap! I plan on porting all my .msstyles work over in the future, and of course improving them. :)

Don't think that will ever happen Johnnyboy, WB has so many areas that are not even in a .msstyles that it would make it impossible. MSStyles have a lot less in them and it is easy to port them to WB, but not vice-versa.

Msstyles are limited, it would be taking a huge step back. :D

Can I convert XP .msstyles to use on vista msstyles, or does the converted msstyles only work with WindowBlindes?

Converted .mstyles from XP will run on Windowblinds only on XP or Vista. Most coverted .msstyles will need some work in SkinStudio before they are perfect though. There is no absolutely way to convert Windowblinds skins to .msstyles at all.

Ok, but WindowBlinds to Vista MSStyles is possible, isn't it?
Vista's MSStyles has all those eye-candy features except for the animation.

Not really. Even though Vista .msstyles are "better" than XP, they are still very limited compared to WindowBlinds.

Wouldn't it be possible to convert from WB to msstyle by stripping out all of the animations that can't be handled, and still the graphics as an msstyle?

Of course it's possible, but we can't expect a WindowBlinds to MSStyles converter from Stardock.

I can't even run the program... keep getting an error saying "ODZIP.dll cannot be found. The DLL must be placed in the application directory, the path, the Windows directory or in the Windows System Directory"

Download ODZIP.dll from here.
Close all the Stardock programs and run the included copyfile.bat
