@myrrdex it's normal. Download visual styles from here or browse the Released Visual Styles forum of WinMatrix.
Hi Secured Tim,
Thanks for the quick reply. So I went to the link, and download the first theme on the page. I unzipped the file and I had .msstyles file. I copied that file to the Resources\Themes\ directory as noted above.
Nothing new became available to me in Display->Themes or Display->Appearance
Am I doing something wrong here?

Double click on the .msstyles file.
Brings up the Display Properties Window -> Appearance Tab
Nothing is available for me to change. :-(

When I get to the step where I drag the original file from the System32 directory to replacer then press enter. The system asks me what to open the file with.
So I select Open With but I'm not sure what to choose now...
I'm sorry I am a new to customizing XP and asking silly questions.

What if you don't have a dllcache folder in the system 32 folder and the ux theme files only appear in the system 32 folder itself? Should I just delete those files? If not, what should I do?
(A screenshot is shown to demonstrate the problem)

have pasted the rar file into the SYSTEM32 file but no pop-up with windows file protection has come up. Should I give the second method a go, otherwise is there a step I've missed?
