I have a Triple Boot setup on my computer... Vista only needs 25GB, 10GB for Leopard, and 10GB for Ubuntu. :)

oh come on guys, yall should know this if your a real linux user.

use the terminal to update.

from terminal do "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade"

that will get the new needed files (kernel, etc...)

then do "sudo apt-get update", that will update the sources to Hardy, and update ALL of your software to Hardy, and keep your /home partition entact.

this way, your doing the update while in the system (yes, you will have to reboot) and you just get the needed files, and not a .iso file.

although there is no reason to not have an .iso file on hand, but if you really need one, use Ship-It.

and NO, i have NOT updated yet, because i know that billions of geeks like me have done this and are hitting the apt-get update mirrors with the force of a nuclear strike.

poor servers.

or just make a normal system update and it shows you that a new Version of Ubuntu is available!

@the guy that said Windows is more stable than Linux: Lol, do you believe that yourself?

I can't even add things in the Synaptic Package Manager. It just sits there and doesn't download much at all.
Guess I'll wait for tonight to start customizing and creating things.

I kinda want to install Ubuntu on my third partition, but will it affect my previously installed OSes (vista,xp)?

The best feature is inbuilt Wubi, a Windows-based installer that puts Ubuntu on the same partition as the Windows partition! :D

Good info. I'll give it a try.

This is a great release :)

I decided to go ahead and install Vista and put Ubuntu with it and removed XP completely. The move wasn't that bad at all. My Vista is running great now. I decided to get a torrent one instead of installing the bloated one that came with my PC and all is well.

I can't wait to get rolling on Ubuntu 8.04

Has anyone found a way to get AWN to work on 8.04 yet?

It works fine for me... of course, I only use it as a taskbar, so I don't know how well the applets work on it.

Try the following repository... it's got the most current development version, but it seems pretty stable.

I've already started on some graphics to make the standard style better with nicer panels to match my Yanike Aero 2 style.
