For using custom visual styles in Vista you have to replace three system files (uxtheme.dll, shsvcs.dll and themeui.dll) with the patched ones.

VistaGlazz was used mostly for patching these files before the release of SP1. Now everyone is replacing the files manually but I know many of you have been waiting for VistaGlazz to be compatible with SP1 because of the hesitation in replacing system files or for some other reasons.
Now your wait is over! The beta version of VistaGlazz SP1 is available to download which works perfectly on Windows Vista SP1 32 bit.

What's New:
We’ve modified some code and everything seems to work like it should. Beta3 will be able to fix 32bit SP1 systems that have been patched with VistaGlazz 1. VistaGlazz should identify your system as “patchable” (as opposed to “original” for untouched systems). If VistaGlazz identifies your system as corrupt or if you encounter any other problem, please let us know.

We do not have a solution for 64bit SP1 systems that are patched with VistaGlazz 1 yet, since that problem is a little bit more complex.

If you can replace these system files manually in Vista, that would be better because VistaGlazz SP1 is in beta stage presently.
You can download the files from here.

VistaGlazz isn’t compatible with Vista Home Basic edition.

Oo, finally. Obviously, this hasn't gotten the attention yet, but this is very good, I like how it is so convenient.

I don't know if you recently discovered this so I'll lay off...

I check codegazer every day and VistGlazz SP1 BETA2 has been out for weeks now! I recommend everyone stay away from it until it goes to full version. It's one thing to try beta software, but I myself would not mess around with something like this if it has a chance of messing up my system for good! :ph34r:

Anyone familiar with Murphy's law?

VistaGlazz is great, but I won't use a beta program for replacing the system files. It's better to replace the files manually. It's not that hard!

No, I just can't understand his computer, because apparantly everything that is going on for his computer, they don't follow any of the symptoms.

Uhm... quote from the beta 1;

Update 2008/04/08: We have confirmed that the beta isn’t working properly with 32bit Vista systems. If you are running a 64bit Vista system all should be fine. We are working on the problem and will release a new beta as soon as possible.

So if i read it correctly it works perfect on 64 bit systems and not yet (beta 1) on 32 bit....

There are some issues with beta 2. Read this post.
Don't forget to create a Restore Point before using VistaGlazz.

@AeroGlass
Make sure you have replaced all the .dll files successfully. If the patcher doesn't work then take help from this thread.

Place the folder of the downloaded visual style in the Themes folders.
The full path should be:
C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\NameOfTheVS\NameOfTheVS.mssttles
