I have created a little program called: 'KaneBT Taskbar & Start Menu Remover’. Once installed, it will automatically start with Windows, disabling the Taskbar, Start Menu and Windows key on the keyboard.
I personally have never used the taskbar or start menu in Windows XP. Ive always used RocketDock. I’m sure there are many people who do this, just hate the taskbar & start menu, or are trying to make their XP system look like a Mac.
Also, to make a full transformation, make the taskbar the smallest size possible before running the program (otherwise the taskbar will show on startup)
Read More About It Here
All replies are hugely appreciated!
Thanks,
KaneBT

With the start menu docklet, taskbar is always useless for the dock users, but do all the dock programs not have the option to hide the taskbar?

its not a registry hack. just an executable file which removes the taskbar.

I created it using AutoHotKey.
Where did you get registry hack from?
I mean these "types" of things can be controlled using the registry. It struck me if u r using registry keys, cause I dont know one that makes ur taskbar dissappear . So thought there might be something I can learn here , and therefore I asked. Nevermind, ... I am not a very experienced programmer

Sorry, not Rocketdock.
The most useful and bug-free dock I've ever used doesn't hide the Taskbar automatically like ObjectDock or RK Launcher...

By the way, great app, THE KING!

Thanks ahol8191!
Unfortunately, as ahol said, RocketDock doesnt't come with this option. I use it anway however as it is free, mostly bug-less & has a beautiful interface.
ahol8191, could you clarify that you've tried this app on your xp and it has worked?
Id just like to make sure it defenitely does.
Thanks for the replies guys!

Actually, I use Vista!
My XP Partition is out of commission.
Should I still try it?

i see
i would be great if you could try it on vista!
I'm not sure how succesful it will be.
If it works, remeber you restart to get the taskbar back, or you can close explorer and open it again.
Thanks!

IT works great!
By the way, thanks for informing me about the Explorer tip! I like my taskbar and I like where I keep it (top of screen)...
NOTE: It doesn't disable the Start Menu nor WinKey in Vista! That being, it works exactly like this little app I always keep at hand:
hide_taskbar
Except "Taskbar & Start Menu Remover" doesn't crash when I lower windows like "hide_taskbar" does!
Again, great work!
