After reading so many great reviews I gave it a try on my Windows XP notebook and I have to say that I’m highly impressed with it.

DExposE2 is on quite a few sites now , eg. Lifehacker Softpedia and numerous other sites ... u name them ... ;)

But though reviews are good , people are commenting BAD without trying it out . Although I have recieved HUGE amount of emails with praises , feature requests I still kind of desire the shown comments at those sites would have been better .

Not that I wanted this publicity tho <_< <_< . Doing it for Winmatrixcians was all I desired  . Really , Believe me when I say that . I had enough support from Winmatrixcians to satisfy my interest . I really dont need the whole world to get involved plzz  . Winmatrix is enough for me right now . ;) B)

Winmatrix rocks !!! :punk:

I have become busy like hell !! I may not be able to put in any work before June ends .
Thats how bad my situation is  I hope u will be patient  I am sorry , but however much I try I know its next to impossible . I mean looking into forums for short periods of time and opening the code to find what is wrong needs different levels of involvement and time. I hope u get the point !!

Hello,

Great App! Recently I have tested few apps like this (free and shareware) and I found that Dexpose2 is the fastest and most convenient (as noted in CNET article "DExposE2 (...) is probably the closest to Expose on the Mac").

But I found few problems with Dexpose2 (Portable version):
1. strange dialog on startup titled "DexposE2 - Expose in Windows" with only a "." (dot) as body text and OK button. What is it?
2. Shortcuts based on Winkey + ... not works - esspecialy Winkey+Tab or Winkey+Control (but an example Control+Shift works ok as a shortcut for Dexpose)
3. shortcuts with ` (accent) key don't work (this is key under ESC key) - esspecially Alt+` nor Winkey+`
4. Lack of option to exclude some windows/applications in Dexpose panel at all - an example new Winamp is showna as 2 windows: old skinned Winamp window titled "Winamp" and new skinned window titled "Main Window". It would be cool to add some application/window exlusion list. It can be implemented with existing window capture methods Exception List by simply adding 3rd radio button named "Exclude" beside "PrintWindow method" and "Screen capture method if possible". So anyone can exclude e.g. "Winamp" window from DExpose.
5. Horrible memory hog - 40-50 MB of RAM. Maybe it would be possible to do some optimizations?

Anyway, thanks for your efforts and best regards,
Jarko

ps
BTW what are differences between portable and standard versions? because as I can see both stores settings in registry.

Thanks for liking it

1. OOPS !! U just ran into a trap for a bug . Just install the installer version once and uninstall it. Then run the portable thing . I will fix it in next release ( about end of june )

2.&3. Will give it a look and also hotcorners problems and multimonitors problems for next release ;)

4. Point noted Mr.Testerr . Next version will have a "total" exclusion scenario

5. Memory hog because it caches window captures in ur physical memory if u dont have enough video memory . The space it takes on ur ram is given up as soon as any other app needs it ! ;) So altho u see memory usage to be so much u actually dont slow down any bit !!

Also I wud prefer if u pm me for any further querries, suggestions etc. Its good for me as I will be immediately notified by email . OK?? U r always welcome to post here though !! But for a few days I will not be able to reply as I am a bit busy with other things now :(

[ ps: Actually many "portable" apps do store things in ur registry . I gave a remover with the portable version . Use it if u dont like residues in ur registry . And ya I am going for a ini implementation altho I think I wont be able to do it . :( ]

Doesn't work for me.

Windows 2003 Enterprise, SP2. DirectX enabled, full hardware acceleration enabled.

Upon running, I get this messagebox:

---------------------------
DexposE2 - Expose in Windows
---------------------------
.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Edit: Just read your above post. Looks like it's a problem with the portable version.

Edit2: Tried the full version too, crashes with no messages when started. Tried messing around with the settings too.

Edit3: Tried in a virtual machine, program runs but doesn't work. Tried different window capture methods. Causes screen corruption too, makes explorer icons disappear. The settings window needs a complete overhaul, looks really amateurish.

PS: TopDesk and Reflex Vision work fine on this comp.

A new version is coming at the end of the month. Till then this thread is being closed so that Lord Devrexster may concentrate himself on the next version.
