SkinStudio is a free skin creation applications designed to make it relatively easy to make skins for WindowBlinds. With SkinStudio, users can change virtually every aspect of the Windows XP or Windows Vista graphical user interface including title bars, push buttons, the task bar, the start menu, explorer controls, borders, scrollbars, and much more.

SkinStudio 6 is a complete rewrite of previous versions of the program. Over time, as the number of elements of Windows that could be changed increased, the older versions of SkinStudio became very complex. SkinStudio 6 is re-designed to provide skinners a step-by-step way of creating their own Windows visual styles that, upon completion, can be applied with WindowBlinds.

SkinStudio 6 is a free program. SkinStudio Pro 6 adds an animation editor, code editor, and syncronization tools and is $19.95.

Great visual style editor. I wish if it could export the visual styles in msstyles format too. :P

Wow, I didn't know that SkinStudio is completely free! I'm going to make a WindowBlinds skin now.

It has a completely FREE version?! Yippee!!!

*downloads*

Now to save up my money for OD '08...

EDIT: Crud! I need WindowBlinds for this to work?! I'll just save my $$$ for Object Desktop.

Maybe you guys at Stardock could make a FREE "limited features" version of WindowBlinds... (Msstyles only go so far, even in Vista...)

What happened to the WMP skin support? Can it create only WindowBlinds skins now?

Well you don't need WB to make the skin, just to apply it.

There won't be a "limited" version of WindowBlinds. On another note if you purchase Object Desktop soon you will automatically be upgraded to Object Desktop Ultimate when it's released.

Right now the focus is on creating WindowBlinds skins. WMP skinning doesn't seem to be too popular anymore, so I'm not sure if that will added again.

When I launch the program, it says that WindowBlinds must be installed to use the program. It won't go any further...

It seems the people working for Stardock don't know all about their programs. :P

Looks like it changed along the way. :P

You can simply install the trial version of WB, and that should work so you can check it out. SKS6 should continue to work even after the WB trial expires. :)
