when I'll be done with the website, I'm gonna release PrtScr, for screen captures with more 'style' than the usual crap VB-made screen capture tool. Video here:

It started from the frustration that the MS snipping tool is only available for Vista or tablet PC's. So I made something similar (not as advanced with the ink, though, because using the ink SDK would have restricted it to.. Vista & tablets too).

I don't get what you mean.

You can simply press PRT SC on your keyboard, open your image editing program, and press CTRL + V...
Why should THAT be stylish if it is so simple? I have always taken screenshots in the past and edit them without the use of Snipping Tool.
I have Snipping Tool and find it hard to use with limited possibilities.

it's all about speed, if you were making lots of screenshots (for support or something), you would know.

-it's made & on your desktop in max 3 clicks (well, even 2 clicks as it can automatically put them on the desktop)

-as JPG/PNG/BMP, whatever you predefined, scaled how you wanted (& with a nice blur around your selection for formats without alpha)

-it's easier to annotate when the ink has been made for natural drawing (than in an image editor)

-if your image editor is photoshop, you can also add up to 15sec for it to load

when will this be released and will it work on xp

if I find the time to make the web page, this week, and yes, on XP (& vista I suppose), which is the major point since you can't run the snipping tool on a normal XP (to my knowledge)

its kwl, it doesn have some quickness in it but it would be good if it had an ability to qutomaticly save to different pre-specifyed locations and have an ability to just press prtscr and it auto saves the whole screen :)

you can configure it so that it will put the capture straight on your desktop, it would then be 2x prt scr to put a full capture on desktop. I don't want to shortcut the capture process because making a selection is the whole point of the tool (most of the time you don't need to capture the whole screen, so if you do, it's because you plan to crop it later, and this tool is about cropping it at the time you make the capture). Pressing prt scr twice isn't much.
I had thought about specific saving folders, maybe in a future update.
