and people are still using IE why.... ???
As I understand it, The new IE 8 now supports W3C Standards mode and it's previous "quarky" mode, so if this thing is done right, IE may ACTUALLY be a good webbrowser again.

These look like sites for the beta testers who already installed the beta 1.

Microsoft has uploaded the IE8 Beta!

Windows Vista (SP1 and RTM) and Server 2008 X86 Version: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Windows Vista (SP1 and RTM) and Server 2008 X64 Version:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Windows XP SP2/SP3 RC X86 (X64 for XP Home):
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Windows Server 2003 SP2:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Windows Server 2003 SP2 and XP Professional X64:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

A quick sum out of the terms, the same old, same old, but as this is a beta, it expires, so please note that the date will be 1st December 2008 when IE8 Beta 1 expires

Also recommended for IE7 users to back up their 'Internet Explorer' folder for safety reasons :D

Quick report on IE8, if you hate IE7, then don't try this beta! This is because IE8 is SLOW, so I have IE8 on 'Emulate IE7' mode. I recommend to install 'Report a Webpage Problem Internet Explorer 8.0 Beta Add-On' if there are any problems

Lets hope Microsoft can do a good job with IE8

Well, I guess it's good that Microsoft is implementing standards, but I would find it better if they just made a theme for Firefox, maybe bundle in a few add-ons, and call it IE. That's what they do now with Netscape (though it is discontinued)

Wow!
Just what I always wanted!
Another buggy, bloated browser from Microsoft!

After all of my wonderful experiences with IE7, I think I'll just skip this offering altogether thanx.
