Can't install msn messenger 6.2

Hi,

i have a Problem with the new msn messenger 6.2!!
I cant install it because it writes me msn messenger setup has failed with error code 1601. Please donwload msn messenger form ------ again.


I download msn messenger 3 times but every time it writes me the same problem :cry: !

what i have to do?

@ Pumamx Are you sure that you are downloading the setup file from the official website?

1. Click START, and then click RUN.
2. In the OPEN box, Type msiexec /unreg, and then click OK
3. When this process is complete, click START, and then click RUN.
4. In the OPEN box, type msiexec /regserver, and then click OK.
5. Now install MSN 6.

I'll answer this from an unofficial point of view, I believe your installation software that comes with Windows is not compatible with the new one/fails to update correctly therefore resulting in corruption. By unregistering it, it's no longer in use and can be updated properly and then you re-register it so you can use it again :).
