Uxtheme.dll by default prevents users from installing themes that are not digitally signed by Microsoft. By patching this DLL, you can install all third party visual styles (.msstyles) that are not digitally signed.

I've got the Windows XP SP3 v3264 and I couldn't get the uxtheme.dll work!

the size is the same, and I replaced him, but the themes don't work.. only Windows XP and Windows Classic...

can anyone help me? plz!

How you replaced the file? You are supposed to use Replacer or boot in the safe mode to replace the system file.

Its now been released but doesnt appear to work as I still cant use non MS themes.

I've just downloaded the latest uxtheme.dll from here. I'm still downloading the SP3. I'll soon test it and post back the results.

awww geez i wish i would have seen this post 2 weeks ago. I replaced it by hand but if i would have known they had an installer for sp3 i would have jumped for joy. I need to get back into checking this forum more often >_>

That looks like the same file as the one I used which didnt work. I put it in the c:\windows\system32 folder.

@RND after replacing the file in system32 folder, you need to remove uxtheme.dll from the C:\Windows\system32\dllcache folder so that Windows can't automatically replace the patched file with the original one.
