I mostly use VLC for watching videos and dvds and Winamp for playing music.
Both are great players and very easy to use.

wmp11 is very heavy tho
wmp10 is better it doesn't need wga validation.
but interface is way too old. gonna wait for the light wmp

here's WMP taking up 10MB of ram for you:

Attached File  Untitled.jpg   56.9K   134 downloads

and here it is taking 3MB of RAM in mini-mode:

Attached File  Untitled2.jpg   55.65K   110 downloads

is that "very heavy" for you? You computer specs nub.

anyway, I love WMP11. It's MCE 2005 inspired UI nails! I like managing my media the microsoft way, so yeah I like media center and zune too ololololo

I can't wait for WMP12!

I use:
1) KM Player
2) Media Player Classic
3) WMP 10

In that order.
I download all sort of vid clips, bit of porn, You-Tube, some films & quite a bit of music.

My observation in general is:
All play music.
* WMP 10 rarely plays video (maybe 20% of my attempts) & never provides much info as to exactly why.
* Med Plr Classic plays about half the vids I throw at it, often the coloration & brightness are poor, & I have no ability to change this, at least that I have been able to discover.
* KM player plays about 85% of my vid clips & allows me to control brightness, gamma & colour to some extent. If it fails to play you get a very comprehensive info package about why.

I will now dwnld & try VLC which appears to have very good approval here.

It's a good bump. I didn't know that very few people use KMPlayer. I'll try to switch to GOM. I hate VLC because of it's seekbar.

VLC is hands down the best. I have yet to come across a codec it does not recognize!

Command line MPlayer :] I like to keep things simple :D (btw, most of existing players is using some of it's libraries or depend on it as far as I know)

I still love WMP and RP (Real Player), MPC, also MusicMatch (in the past), but yeah finally VLC kicks ass! Especially for Videos/DVDs :D

And Winamp is so lighter with many plug ins :)

Windows Media Player 11 for me. I do really like VLC but every time I started the program, I always had to put the EQ for music to how I like it over and over again. So I just got rid of it and went back to Windows Media Player 11. :D

WMP 12 for music. VLC for videos.
VLC plays anything and everything, you can throw dvd, iso, bin, direct copy of dvd's in folders, flv, the list goes on! Not good with music. Thats what WMP or Itunes is for though.

PS, whoever uses Real Player is <edited>
