Subscribers to Object Desktop will be getting the long awaited preview of SkinStudio 6 in just a few days. SkinStudio is a program that allows users to create visual styles for Windows XP and Windows Vista.

The upcoming version of SkinStudio is a complete rewrite, and making it much easier for new users to create skins was a top priority. Users can change as much, or as little of the GUI as they want, and this new version will take advantage of features in the also upcoming WindowBlinds 6 which will also be released in beta very soon.

Things looks decent so far. All I hope for however, is that SkinStudio becomes much less complicated and easier to use. It made (in my eyes) ResEdit look like bliss.

Knowing Stardock, in all its splendor, I bet they'll jack the price up.

@tosbsas: Object Desktop includes a full year of updates, along with any new programs added to Object Desktop during that year. At the end of the year, you can continue your subscription or stick with what you already have.

There's going to be a free version as there is now. ;)

Stardock is going to make skinning easier!
It looks very well organized in comparison to the previous version.
