I am a Zune user while my daughter just purchased an iPhone.
I have a converter which can convert DVD to WMV for my Zune, but the software does not support creating MP4. Is there any freeware convert DVD to MP4? Or I need to convert DVD to WMV, then convert WMV to MP4 for iPhone?
I just googled the <website removed> site, but all shareware.

Handbrake is usually the first choice for easy video processing.
If that doesn't get you what you want then you can try AppGeeker.
These are all easy to use.

To import your wmv files into iphone, you need a professional tool like Video Converter for Windows and Video Converter for Mac, which helps you to do the conversion efficiently and seamlessly. Using this tool, you don't need to remember the suitable video parameters, like bit rate, frame rate, resolution, etc. for your iPhone model because it directly provideds the optimized preset for it. Now let's go over below detailed guide.

makemkv to rip dvds or blurays to a mkv file

then use the file in Handbrake (it has apple specific profiles) to a mp4.

all freeware...

links.

http://makemkv.com/

http://handbrake.fr/

NOTE: It takes a few moments to figure out handbrake, just click the profile, then start the job.  for MakeMKV, find the title list that has the right time line (estimated to the nearest minute) and rip that title.   Bothof these you have to play around a bit with, but both are worth it

Or you can use Freemake.  Freemake will rip DVDs and convert to any number of formats, including, WMV, MP4, MKV, MP3, FLV, etc...

And yes, it is free.

freemake >  http://www.freemake....ideo_converter/

(note: online installer, tries to get you to install addon crap, read the screens carefully, and choose no or deny.. that have those words just a slight grey darker so that it is easy to miss... that is why I did not suggest it first)
