In December 2006, Microsoft requested feedback from a select group of invitees regarding what they would like to see fixed, changed and/or added to future Windows builds. The Windows team got an earful: Nearly 800 new feature requests, another 560-plus change requests and almost 400 defects.

Among some of the more interesting items on the honed feedback-request list:

* Integrated antivirus
* Inclusion of a completely vector-based graphical-user interface
* Multi-session Remote Desktop
* Session-restore feature for Internet Explorer 7
* Capability for other Windows PCs to act as Media Center Extenders
* ISO/BIN system-image support
* Download manager for Internet Explorer
* Replace error ID number with plain language explanation

A number of the items on the list of 70 possible futures have to do with improving the fit and finish of Windows, such as allowing reordering of Taskbar Buttons, applying the Aero user-interface look and feel consistently throughout the operating system; and including more desktop themes.

* Integrated bluetooth?
* Integrated anti-virus would be nice, yes. Hell, they have everything but. But, I guarantee you that it won't happen. *anti-trust*
* More themes, yes.

* Improved gaming performance.

Vista sucks in gaming. I still have XP as dual boot for my DirectX 9 games.

- start over, the NT kernel is a little bit old if you ask me
- make it impossible to install on current pc configurations (if you want new software, buy new hardware, get rid of that 10 years old piece of shit you call computer)
- add PROFESSIONAL audio/video/photo software
- it should be on a HD data disc
- integrate Word/Excel/PowerPiont Viewers into the OS
- make a better protection for "normal" people (UAC is annoying)
- make it look good (Longhorn Concept was good, only a moron is able to remove it...)
- give it a good name, don't make the same mistake twice, "Longhorn" sounds thousend times better than "Vista", Bill... my friend... WTF is wrong with you? If the next version of windows is codenamed "Windows Seven" and you put a stupid name like "Windows Vienna" don't wonder if nobody buy it... Call it "Windows Revolution" or anything more powerfull than the codename...

no more need to defrag hard drive
-----------
i read somewhere about that but it still defrags, if a piece of a program is lost,it searches for it,and defrags it into the same place automatically

uses 256mb ram unfortunately but it will be better in maybe 5 years

1) ONLY TWO VERSIONS OF THE OS!!!!! Home and Business

2) More games to play with!

3) Windows Live software integrated in.

4) NO MORE FREAKIN TRIAL SOFTWARE

5) Add/Remove like Linux

6) Fix up Internet Explorer more (No. I would not like any Mozilla engine based browser being the default browser for many of reasons.)

7) Make the development software free or give users a standard developing tool.

8) Alarm clock added to the Time/Date

9) Online Movie and Music subscription service in Windows Media Player.

10) A Texas Instruments like calculator!!!!

11) Add OpenOffice or give users the Student's and Teacher's office edition for free.

12) That's it! I'm not getting paid so why should I give them ideas to get rich off of.
