Ok, I tried to do the Uxtheme Patcher,
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-Enhan...SP2-Final.shtml
but it did not work.
I did exactly as the instructions said, yet it didn't work.

The only reason I need this is because my StyleXP trial ran out, so I need to patch it some other way.
But, I did this Uxtheme Patcher, but I still can't apply my themes...
Help? :cry:

Ugh, it's not working.
"Uxtheme Multi-patcher 5.0 has detected that there's any Window NT setup file in

C:\WINDOWS\i386

It's not recomended you to continue with this. Please eject your Windows NT CD or move that folder to somewhere else. Press OK to exit Uxtheme Multi-patcher 5.0"
That's what it says.
I'm having the same problem as almost everyone else on the reviews.

And when I tried to rename my back up file of uxtheme.dll from when I downloaded that first patcher, it just copies the uxtheme.dll file, and pastes it to the list, therefore it won't let me rename it. So, basically I really don't know what to do if I can't get this multi-patcher to work.

I might even have to restore my whole PC...

Don't restore, it's a silly thing! :o

All themes require Uxtheme Multi-Patcher 5.5. If the Uxtheme Patcher says it can't patch it for you because you have "NT" files in your i386 directory, just use this one. Just deselect everything but "Patch Uxtheme.dll". Remember to reboot!

Alternate Patch :)

@ShamusHand
That isn't a patch.
It's just a theme from what I see...

I love that theme though!
I might download it.

But I really need a Uxtheme patch. :\

Ok, I've somehow fixed my problem.
No clue what I did. But whatever.

All I did was install that thing ShamusHand told me to to install, then uninstalled it because I didn't like the start button, seeing as it had a bug.

Then when I rebooted my computer as it told me, one of my old msstyle themes was applied when it started up.
Then I was like, "maybe it just applied this one", so I tried to apply another one I used to use, and it works.

So, it's patched itself somehow. But I really don't care, as long as it works! LOL! :lol:

Thanks for all you guys' help! :) :) :)

PS;
Might as well give a special thanks to you ShamusHand, for telling me to install that thing, sort of the reason why I have this problem fixed. Hahaha.

Glad you fixed it, but that isn't just a theme - it's an installer, and during the installer you can check off everything except "Patch UXtheme.dll". It works every time. :lol:

Haha, yeah. I noticed that after I posted that it was just a theme.

Just as a note for future, look at file extension to determine whether it's a theme or a patcher. The patcher will usually be ".dll" and ".zip" for themes (as generally they are put into compressed folders).

Actually, the theme will be .zip or .rar, while the patcher may be .exe or .dll.
Extensions may vary! :)
