The program is called injstar.
in a nutshell it plays videos as a wallpaper. so can a number of other programs... but heres the new catch.
You can set up playlists...
you can have the playlist repeat
you can have it start on windows boot.
you can kill the sound!
You can change the speed of playback
By hitting f1, you can have it change from the background pic, to the background in file explorer, word, etc..
and from what i can tell it uses the codecs that you have installed!

Download the program from here or here.

i tried it, but it seems to be a bit buggy (or i was doing it wrong, in which case it needs better documentation
)
specifically:
-it only seems to play the first minute or so of a video.
-playlist didn't seem to work, it would only loop the first minute of the first video on the list
-selecting 'silence' from the right click menu works fine, but once the video loops, the sound comes back, couple that with the 1 minute loop makes the silence setting useless
is there anything specific i have to do to avoid the above issues?

I've installed the newest version of injstar ok, and it seems to play wmv files fine too, but, my icons don't show. My taskbar shows and any open windows including windows sidebar, but no icons. All the links to videos I found on here all point to wmv files since they are mostly dreamscape videos. I tried to convert one to avi format and it looked like crap, but still no icons. Can someone help me since the bsplayer and vln player's wallpaper feature never worked for me either. I followed all directions there to, but never got the option for wallpaper when I right clicked......PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
