My friends want me to fix their old computer, It's a classic case of "It won't start". I have pretty much fixed everything, except that the 20GB hard drive is only 2 GB now. I hooked it up to my Vista PC, formatted it (everything went normally, with 20GB of free space), and put it back in the XP Pro PC. The XP pc says "You have to format this disk before you can use it", and when I try formatting it, the drive only shows up as 2GB... can anyone help me here? The 20GB is supposed to be storage (D:\), and XP is installed on a 4GB hard drive (C:\)

I tried Partition Magic, but I got an error:

partition table error #110

And it won;t apply any changes.

nvm, I got it. someone set the jumpers (this drive has two) to "2GB clip". I set them to cable select and it works fine now :)
