IT SUCKS.

I like the private browsing feature, but that is about it. It crashed when I imported my Firefox bookmarks and imported the RSS feeds in the bookmarks as links rather than RSS feeds. It certainly didn't seem any faster than Firefox and it is no good without all the extensions that I have grown accustomed to.

How about that- I just found a Firefox extension for private browsing.

That is exactly why it would take an incredibly fast and good looking browser to beat Firefox- you can't come up with any new features that can't be found in an extension.

Well, I installed it, but it doesn't display any text. None of the menus, address/search boxes, or web pages show any text at all (it shows images fine, though)

In Short: Beta!

After 3 hours of testing it on my laptop (which is a piece of crap), and after 2-4 restarts from the intense resource hogging, I have concluded that Safari absolutely SUCKS. It is faster browsing, but only by about 1.5x, but the resource requirements are too high.

it is just like firefox or whatever

but with firefox i can choose where to save a file when i download it when i go to download it

and if i want an app to load with a file i download ff will let me open it with a program

but safari will not let me do that if there was a plug in or something to allow me to do this i would use safari all the time

so if there is a plug in for that point me in the right direction apple fans!!!!!!!!!

ah it is Beta 3 you know ;) and it works ok on my Intel 2 Extreme... however

it did suck a lot of memory which I do not care I have 4 GB so bring it on.
Try to connect to 20 different IPs according to my firewall
Everytime I move the screen from my primary monitor to my second monitor and maximize it then it dissapiers (Using a Samsung 22' Secondary and a HP 2207 as my primary both wide screen)
I hate the GUI colors thay gray color sucks
I still like FF # 1 and IE 7

Just my take...

BTW I hate MACs but love Linux, SUN and Windows not in that order :rolleyes:

......

Well the pages do load faster but it seems that everysite that I visit needs to be added to my FW not the case with FF or IE 7 still have not fix my screen issue..

In short:

Safari = Meant for Macs
Opera = Fast and stable.
Firefox = Not so fast, but owns IE and is more customizable.
Internet Explorer = It just plain sucks. :P

Apple why even bother? Firefox Owns the PC Market, Safari does not have a chance. I think mac people rather have firefox than safari, because of customization and great open source developers and support.

As for Opera, who uses that? Firefox is KING

Most of rendering speed depends on Net Connection. Startup times are what really matter, IE pwns everybody on this (because its integrated with windows) but firefox isnt far off
