Hey all, I was possibly looking into buying myself a new processor for my PC. My current one is an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ and I was looking to upgrade that, possibly to dual core. Is there anything I should be aware of power consumption wise? Is there anything else I should take into consideration?
Thanks for your input.

Your processor is for Socket A. If you want to buy a new processor, may be a dual-core, you must change motherboard, memory and GPU because all dual-core from AMD on de market works with socket AM2.
socket AM2 works with any AMD's dual-core processor but Socket only works with Athlon XP single core, but they doesnt exit actually only AM2
bye

Ok, So dual core is out of the question. Is it still possible to find a faster Vista ready processor for socket A?
