Okay, so I want to upgrade my (older) desktop, which has XPSP2, to Vista. The mobo is an Asus P5VD1 (if I remember right), and I remember using the CD that came with the mobo to install the audio/lan drivers. Now, the PC I have on Vista now has a lot newer stuff including an Asus mobo certified for Vista, and it was a cinch getting it ready.
My question really is will Vista grab the drivers itself and do everything on it's own? I know the drivers on the CD are too old (actually for SP1 xp) to use for Vista. Anybody have insights?
the Asus website reports that they have a soundmax that may work, but still no LAN.

If somehow you connect your PC to the internet, Vista will find the LAN drivers itself.
But first find the drivers here if you know what LAN card you have.
edit: nvm, I see what you mean. thanks for the source =]
